About us

Founded in 1887, Teichert’s two main operating companies are Teichert Construction and Teichert Materials. Teichert Construction holds California State Contractor’s License #8, the oldest active license in California. Teichert Construction is a general contractor that builds the infrastructure people use each day, including hundreds of thousands of mile of roads and freeways, commercial and industrial sitework, parks, airports, and more. One advantage that Teichert Construction brings our customers is a full line of construction services. These include mass grading, asphalt paving, concrete paving, curbs and sidewalks and underground pipelines. We stay on the cutting edge, from training our employees to outfitting our construction equipment with the latest technology for greater job efficiency. Teichert Materials is one of the largest construction materials producers in the county. This includes; Teichert Aggregates, a rock, sand, gravel and asphaltic concrete producer. Teichert Materials makes the materials to build homes, schools, offices, roads, levees and other community projects. Since our business is dependent on the use of natural resources, we work closely with neighbors, environmental experts and public officials to design, reclaim and replenish the environment in which we work. This is our 'net-gain' approach to doing business

As a student, working at the Teichert Family of Companies for the summer isn’t just a job, it’s a Summer Work Experience. Congrats to our students this year. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for them. Big thanks to Mark Adams and Kenneth Woods for leading this program and working to improve it year after year. Thank you also to Mike Goss and Jason Smith for giving us the tour of the Vernalis plant. Finally, special thanks to Yanetli Navarro-Hernandez for providing our safety briefing.

The Conveyor 2026 Summer Edition is out now! The cover features the Daguerre Point Dam and Daguerre Point Nature-Like Fishway habitat project, located in northern California in the Yuba River. The article highlights producer member Teichert, which partnered on the project with the Yuba Water Agency, state and federal agencies and other stakeholders that are focused on improving fish passage, restoring habitat and maintaining reliable water supplies for local agriculture. The magazine also highlights Equinox Gold Corp.’s Castle Mountain Mine and CalPortland’s reclamation efforts in Santa Barbara County. Learn more about Map Sheet 52 and CalCIMA’s inaugural Elevate technical conference, too. • Teichert Materials recently hosted our very own Teichert ASWEP, SWEP, and CSWEP students on a tour of our Vernalis Plant. These students are working at Teichert this summer as a part of our Summer Work Experience Programs. Students were able to take a bus down to view the "pit," which goes down about 210 feet — what an exciting experience for our student interns to see this part of the Teichert Family of Companies firsthand!   As an added bonus, we were able to give Teichert employees from around the company the opportunity to see the plant and interact with our students in the Summer Work Experience Program (SWEP), bringing them Closer to the Action!   #TeichertFamilyOfCompanies #SWEP #WorkforceDevelopment #BuildingLeaders #TeichertUniversity

Today, AGC of California was proud to have longtime member Teichert Construction testify in support of AB 1436 (Avila Farias) before the Senate Environmental Quality Committee. A special thank you to John Lane for delivering thoughtful and compelling testimony on behalf of California’s construction industry. AB 1436 reinforces a straightforward legal principle: if California lacks federal authority to regulate private fleets directly, it should not attempt to do so indirectly through public agency contracts. The bill provides needed legislative clarity to ensure regulatory actions remain within established legal authority while protecting public agencies, contractors, and taxpayers from uncertainty, unnecessary costs, and potential litigation. California can continue pursuing its ambitious environmental goals, but those policies must rest on clear legal authority, transparent rulemaking, and practical implementation. As John emphasized today, durable environmental progress depends on regulations that are both legally sound and workable in the real world. Thank you again to the entire Teichert team for your leadership and partnership in advancing smart, effective public policy for California’s construction industry.
