As a sweeping new federal law reshapes SNAP, Medicaid, and housing voucher eligibility, Robin Hood is doubling down on the organizations helping New Yorkers weather the shock. Today we announced $38.6 million in Q3 2026 grants — bringing our year-to-date total to approximately $71 million — across five areas: 🟢 Early Childhood — Building classroom quality as NYC's child care system expands, including new and renewed investments in Bank Street College of Education, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Teaching Matters, Teaching Lab, and the Association to Benefit Children (ABC). 🟢 School-Age Learning — Backing literacy instruction, benefits access, and AI-powered civic tech, with support for The City University of New York (CUNY), Chalkbeat New York, Relay Graduate School of Education, iMentor, CAMBA, and The Child Center of NY. 🟢 Young Adult Opportunity — Investing in college completion, career pathways, and justice-system diversion, including the College Persistence Coalition's Gateway Math Lab and Shared Horizons, alongside Per Scholas and The HOPE Program. 🟢 Household & Housing Stability — Meeting rising need for emergency food, legal services, and affordable housing, with grants to West Side Campaign Against Hunger, Sharing Excess, and longtime partners like the The Legal Aid Society and Women In Need, Inc. (Win). 🟢 Public Policy — Strengthening the research and advocacy infrastructure behind lasting solutions, including the Center on Poverty and Social Policy at Columbia University (home of our Poverty Tracker), the Vera Institute of Justice, and Citizens' Committee for Children of New York. In the word's of our CEO Richard Buery, Jr.: "We can't wait to find out how bad it gets." This investment is about being here for New Yorkers now — supporting families about to lose ground and the organizations standing between them and the edge.
