📡 We just shipped a weekly Signal Academy newsletter — a 2-minute Tuesday read for anyone working in broadcast-over-IP. Each issue: • The newest hands-on labs (lately: reading packets with tshark, Dante/AES67, and SRT contribution over the public internet) • How the learning community is doing that week • One lab worth trying • A short, curated set of links from the wider broadcast-IP world — ST 2110, NMOS, PTP, virtual production — summarised so you don't have to dig Signal Academy is game-style, learn-by-doing training for engineers moving to IP: multicast, PTP, ST 2110, NMOS, spine-leaf and troubleshooting. Free to start, and the newsletter comes with it — pick the day it lands, or switch it off anytime. Thanks for being a part of the journey Adrian Gross
Over the last 2 weeks, I was heavily testing a new learning platform called Signal Academy It pretty much came at the exact right time for me, as I wanted to expand my knowledge of networking, especially L3 Networking/Routing for 2110 Media Facilities. This platform has been a huge help for that and is also a lot of fun every day :) Thank you, Anthony Teunen and Richard Teunen , for this amazing platform. It is truly incredible what you have created and how much it grew over the last 14 days. Additionally, it has some nice subnet tools that you might find handy if you are currently designing a network for a media facility, a really incredible lab environment for Arista & Cisco Switch Configuration, and so much more. If you are interested or want to learn more please check it out and help improve this project even more 😄

A rare moment of silence... Anyone who has worked in an MCR knows that when it goes quiet, you instinctively wonder what you're missing. Today, though, it really is quiet. After weeks of live production, it's given me a chance to reflect on just how far our industry has come. I started my career in the PAL era, worked through the transition to SDI, and now find myself supporting one of the most technically advanced live production environments I've ever experienced. This isn't simply SDI with different cables. Partially centralised production, transporting high-quality camera feeds over IP using JPEG XS, enables workflows that simply weren't possible with traditional baseband architectures. We're also producing in 4K HDR while ensuring that millions of viewers with older HD and SDR televisions still enjoy the best possible viewing experience. Technology keeps moving forward, but the objective never changes: deliver the very best pictures to every viewer, regardless of what they're watching on. Tomorrow, the pace starts again. For today... we'll enjoy the silence. #BroadcastEngineering #IPBroadcast #ST2110 #JPEGXS #HDR #LiveProduction

Lately, I've been spending some time improving my knowledge of Broadcast IP and networking because it's clear that's where our industry is heading. While learning, I came across Signal Academy and honestly, it's been a really good experience so far. What I like is that it doesn't feel like you're just reading through a course. You go through short lessons, revise with flashcards, test yourself with quizzes, and then apply what you've learned in hands-on labs. That combination has made learning much easier for me. I'm still learning, but I can already see the difference in how much more confident I feel with networking concepts. If you're a student, a broadcast engineer, or just someone who wants to understand Broadcast IP and networking better, I'd say give it a try. It might help you the way it's helping me. Learning something new every day is always worth it. 😊 Have you tried Signal Academy yet? I'd love to hear your thoughts. #BroadcastEngineering #BroadcastIP #SignalAcademy #Networking #ST2110 #IPNetworking #BroadcastIndustry #Learning #Engineers Signal Academy Anthony Teunen
