Our co-founder Brandon Tseng was recently recognized on the cover of Forbes as one of the people who helped pioneer defense tech starting in 2015. The best part: the Shield AI team made a special edition cover. Brandon loves it, and Google's algorithm does too. Which is better, Le Tigre or Blue Steel?

Great week at #Arendalsuka 2026 - with thanks to Ukrainian Freedom Convoys who are making a difference in #Ukraine through their direct donations and aid, and to Corporate Communications for hosting the #Ukraine Morning event with an invitation to Shield AI to join a conversation on autonomous drones with Jan Ottesen. The key message about #autonomy, it is only as good as your ability to adapt to the environment. You can only do that by learning as far forward as possible, having the capacity to rapidly iterate your software, and get it sailing, flying, or diving again.

Excited to support the US Navy with X-BAT! The Department of the Navy Rapid Capabilities Office (DONRCO) and PAE Aviation, in partnership with the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU), is investing $50M to scale Runway Independent Maritime Expeditionary Strike (RIMES) with X-BAT, the world's first AI-piloted VTOL fighter jet. bit.ly/3S6hxL8 Autonomy for the world. Yesterday's software is rarely enough for tomorrow's mission. Right now, adapting autonomy means a round trip. An operator identifies a gap, then engineers modify the code, retest, recertify, and redeploy. That process moves on an engineering timeline rather than an operational one, and in a contested environment it costs the mission. Across the industry, organizations are looking to AI Factories as the next production model for AI. Thomas Schaefer (VP of Hivemind Enterprise) shares how Shield AI is building AI Factories for autonomy. Full blog below. Autonomy for the world. The greatest victory requires no war.

RIMPAC 2026, the world's largest international maritime exercise, brought together allies and partners from across the Indo-Pacific. Aboard USCGC Kimball, V-BAT flew alongside the U.S. Coast Guard and Philippine Coast Guard in a joint search and rescue exercise. V-BAT located and tracked two simulated stranded vessels, guiding rescue crews to the scene. In transit, V-BAT also extended the crew's awareness by scanning for vessels of interest ahead of the strike group. Autonomy for the world. The greatest victory requires no war. “I’ve been to war. I never want to see my kids have to go to war,” says Brandon Tseng, who deployed to Afghanistan twice. “I thought there was a better way to help deter conflict: autonomous systems and the proliferation of drones.” Tseng cofounded Shield AI with his older brother, Ryan, after serving seven years in the military. Today Shield AI is one of the most valuable defense tech unicorns in the nation, worth $12.7 billion after its most recent fundraising in March.
