Established in 2010, SDI LaFarga COPPERWORKS™ is the only company in the U.S. that uses state-of-the-art technology to reclaim processed copper, refine it and create new, high-quality copper products for customers from a variety of industries. From our facility in New Haven, Indiana, we manufacture rod, drawn solid wire and can welding wire. Because COPPERWORKS uses secondary copper to make new copper products, our unique process has a significantly lower environmental impact. Our Can-Do culture fosters a high-performance team that continually innovates to create the best fire-refined copper products. We are customer-driven, working alongside our customers and providing the solutions and expert engineering assistance they need. COPPERWORKS is a joint venture between the La Farga Group in Spain and Steel Dynamics, one of the nation’s largest domestic steel producers and metals recyclers in the U.S.

We’re growing. COPPERWORKS™ is investing $32 million to expand our New Haven, Indiana campus, adding new manufacturing capabilities, increasing production capacity, and creating approximately 12 new skilled manufacturing jobs. The expansion includes additional wire drawing capacity and new bus bar production capabilities, allowing us to expand our product offerings while continuing to deliver the quality and service our customers expect. As demand for domestically manufactured copper products continues to grow, this investment positions us to deliver even greater value while supporting the future of manufacturing in northeast Indiana. #COPPERWORKS
