They’re officially here: two new solar arrays at the YWCA Bellingham! These two arrays, estimated to bring 84,000 kilowatt-hours of energy per year, are funded by PSE. Crews working hard on Vashon 💪 Crews were on Vashon Island recently working on wildfire mitigation projects. They first replaced damaged and old poles with new poles, which were installed with fire resistant pole wraps. These poles are more resistant to fire, which helps improve system integrity. They also worked on reconductoring overhead lines from outdated copper to the current standard of aluminum conductors. This change, again, improves integrity and reliability in the system. 📷 As part of PSE’s wildfire mitigation efforts, crews replaced a three-pole structure in a remote area near a transmission line. Reaching the site required a two-mile drive on a gravel road and a one-mile hike through rugged terrain. Before work could begin, Asplundh crews cleared vegetation and built an access road. The remote location also came with plenty of signs of local wildlife—including a bear sighting. The new poles are wrapped in fire-retardant material, adding protection against wildfire risk while improving the resiliency of our electric system in high-risk areas. We're celebrating record-breaking sockeye salmon returns in 2025 – the highest numbers we've ever seen for both outgoing AND returning fish! Our fish hatchery and passage programs continue to thrive thanks to amazing partnerships with local Tribes and government agencies. This is proof that when we work together, we can power our communities AND protect the incredible natural resources we all share. It's partnerships like these that show how we can power our communities while caring for the environment we all share.

PSE is expanding its Up & Go Electric program with innovative pole-mounted EV chargers. New chargers have been installed in Bremerton at Evergreen Rotary Park and Kiwanis Park, and in Port Orchard on Cline Avenue near City Hall and at Givens Playfield. These chargers are designed to make EV charging more convenient and accessible. Available 24/7, the Level 2 chargers can add up to 25 miles of range per hour, helping support cleaner transportation for residents and visitors alike.
