Yesterday was an incredible day for the Alliance for Building Better Medicine (#ABBM) and the broader Virginia ecosystem that has been building better medicines together. We were honored to welcome U.S. Senator Mark Warner and our #EDA #APMTechHub partners from across the Commonwealth to celebrate the $16M award for our Hub’s End-to-End (E2E) Commercialization Project and the years of collaboration that made this milestone possible. The energy in the room reflected what has defined this work from the beginning: collaboration and innovation alongside brilliant, insightful, and deeply engaged humans. ABBM’s founding partners came together in 2020 around a shared vision to build better medicines, sharpening that vision in 2023 into our mission to build a regional biopharmaceutical ecosystem that creates a resilient drug supply. At that time and alongside our work as a #TechHub, we expanded our community to include key ecosystem and academic partners in Charlottesville-Albemarle, Roanoke-Blacksburg, and the Tidewater region, bringing the strength of the Commonwealth together for #APM and #Biopharma manufacturing. We're committed to smart growth with those who share our mission and vision and from the beginning, we have believed that no single company, institution or sector can solve this challenge alone, relentlessly putting the power of partnership to work. Yesterday brought that belief to life. Our core E2E project partners — Civica Rx, Phlow and Occam Systems — joined leaders from industry, education, workforce, government, research and economic development from across the Commonwealth. Together, they represent the innovation, talent and collaboration needed to accelerate commercialization, strengthen domestic medicine manufacturing and create new opportunities for Virginians. We are grateful to Senator Warner for celebrating this milestone with us, to CCAM - Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing for hosting, and to the many partners who have built and are building this ecosystem together. This is what building better medicines together looks like. #BuildingBetterMedicines #AdvancedManufacturing #Virginia *Medicines for All, Community College Workforce Alliance, City of Petersburg, VA, City of Richmond, Virginia, Virginia Economic Development Partnership, Virginia State University, Activation Capital, Greater Richmond Partnership, Virginia's Gateway Region Economic Development Organization, Virginia Commonwealth University - College of Engineering, VIPC | Virginia Innovation Partnership Corporation, US Pharmacopeia
