Imagine the next generation of robotics and prosthetics moving with the smooth, natural grace of human muscle without the heavy, battery-draining motors of the past. Scientists at the Naval Postgraduate School have engineered a revolutionary artificial muscle using advanced, electrically activated rubber that contracts and flexes on command. This incredibly lightweight, energy efficient, and scalable technology is ready to power the future of wearable tech and lifelike robotics. 👉 Why license? The technology is manufacturable, energy-efficient, low-cost, up-scalable, modular and low-weight, with a $590.5 million serviceable obtainable market focused on UUV, exoskeleton and human augmentation applications. Microfluidic-Based Artificial Muscles and four other technologies will be pitched by NPS inventors at the Lab-to-Launch BlueTech Nexus event. This in-person event is your opportunity to discover exclusive technologies shaping the future of maritime innovation and license them for your business. Register by September 14! Mike Lippert, MS in Systems Engineering '19, has joined NASA's Quesst mission as an X-59 test pilot. Based at NASA's Armstrong Flight Research Center in Edwards, California, Lippert will fly NASA's X-59 quiet supersonic research aircraft, as well as F-15 and F-18 support aircraft, helping advance the agency's mission to demonstrate supersonic flight without the disruptive sonic booms that have historically limited commercial flight over land. His career includes 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he retired as a lieutenant colonel after logging more than 2,600 flight hours in 60 different aircraft. He is expected to begin flying the X-59 later this summer as NASA continues preparing for community flight testing that could help shape the future of commercial supersonic flight. 🔗 Read the full story: https://ow.ly/VEz050ZwP46 📰 Find more NPS alumni news in the August News Roundup: https://ow.ly/EAiH50ZwP45 NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration #ArmstrongFlightResearchCenter #NPSAlumni #AviationInnovation #MilitaryVeteran #FlightResearch #AerospaceEngineering #TestPilot #SupersonicFlight #X59 #NASA

A New Platform is Commissioned into Service! The NVIDIA DGX GB300 system that Jensen gifted to the Naval Postgraduate School through the Naval Postgraduate School Foundation & Alumni Association is fully operational. At the commissioning ceremony, Jensen Huang spoke to the importance of service to something greater than yourself and the need to equip the men and women of NPS with the latest technology. Admiral Paparo spoke of the incredible work NPS does to drive the adoption of new technologies in the Fleet and highlighted the urgency of this moment. President Ann Rondeau graciously thanked all of those who played a part in bringing this new capability to NPS and by extension to the United States Department of the Navy. What else I heard: 1) Leaders eat risk. 2) Leaders must avoid "Cognitive Surrender" in using AI. 3) Leadership in the age of AI demands domain expertise now more than ever. 4) AI is about improving Sensing more than answering discrete questions. It was a great day to be part of the NPS community. We were thrilled to have so many industry partners participate in the kickoff for #Converge @NPS. Thursday will be amazing with operationally focused breakout groups in the morning and the showcase in the afternoon. Shout out to our incredible partners at NVIDIA, Vertiv, DDN, VAST Data, Dell Technologies, Sterling, and Dow who made it happen.
