  • When more than 300,000 NIPSCO customers lost power following the most destructive storm in their recent history, the response reached far beyond one operating company. Employees from across NiSource are coming together to support restoration efforts, serving in field, operational and support roles wherever help was needed most.   We thank each team member who is stepping up to help support restoration efforts as wire watchers, supporting personnel and crews assisting behind the scenes.   This is how we show up as One NiSource.

Every locate request helps protect the underground infrastructure that delivers natural gas and electricity to the customers and communities we serve. Whether it's a small landscaping project or a major construction effort, knowing what's below helps prevent damage, avoid service interruptions and reduce safety risks. Protecting the infrastructure our communities rely on starts with awareness and ends with action. Read more: https://lnkd.in/erUFvCU7

Who pays for the AI buildout, and who benefits from it? In Fortune, Melody Birmingham, executive vice president of NiSource and group president of NiSource Utilities, writes about how communities can benefit from AI-driven growth while protecting customers. As data center investment reaches more communities, local leaders and utilities need to be clear about what communities should get in return: growth that does not come at the expense of existing customers. Utilities have a role in getting this right, too. We created a separate company that allows data centers to finance their own generation rather than draw on the existing customer base.
