Busy radio frequencies can make it harder for pilots to receive and confirm critical departure clearances. Working with the Federal Aviation Administration, Garmin, and ForeFlight, MITRE is helping bring Mobile Clearance into the National Airspace System, allowing pilots to receive clearances as written text delivered directly to the cockpit. Moving from voice-only communication to digital text helps reduce misunderstandings, eases radio congestion, and gives pilots instructions they can easily review before departure. Mobile Clearance is one example of the FAA's broader effort to modernize the National Airspace System — and of what can happen when government and industry work together to solve complex operational challenges. Technology alone will not transform warfighting acquisition. Respondents to MITRE’s 2026 State of Warfighting Acquisition Survey consistently pointed to the importance of faster decision-making, stronger cross-sector collaboration, and a skilled workforce who are confident navigating rapidly changing mission demands. AI, digital tools, and new acquisition pathways can accelerate capability delivery, but only if the workforce is empowered and adequately skilled to use them effectively. How can organizations continuously establish and verify trust across AI, cloud, and confidential computing environments? This is a significant unresolved challenge in modern cybersecurity. To help address it, MITRE, in collaboration with Fr0ntierX, Invary, and The University of Kansas, has released a public review draft of a framework for continuous remote attestation. The framework provides a common approach for validating the integrity of systems and workloads across increasingly complex technology environments, helping advance interoperable Zero Trust architectures and strengthen the technologies that government, critical infrastructure, and the broader digital ecosystem depend on.
