Lakeshore West trains were paused recently, but crews kept moving on three different projects. - At Etobicoke Creek, crews prepared to upgrade the century-old bridge by replacing track supports and testing the crane that will lift the new structure into place. - In the west-end, teams removed portions of the decommissioned signal bridge and carried out minor signal-related works as part of GO Expansion’s Burloak Drive grade separation project. Once complete, trains will move through the area without disrupting drivers or pedestrians. - Over at Exhibition Station, crews added steel supports, pouring concrete and laying the foundation for future escalator and elevator areas for this stop along the Ontario Line. Lakeshore West service will be adjusted Dec. 20 and 21 as work continues on the Etobicoke Creek bridge. We thank our customers and communities for their patience as we completed work that can only be done when trains are not running. 📷Crews working on preparing the crane for the Etobicoke Creek bridge in November.

Metrolinx has received two 2025 awards from the Railway Association of Canada (RAC) in the Passenger category: the Environment Award and the Safety Award, recognizing our commitment to sustainable operations and rail safety. Our Red Zone/Green Zone (RZGZ) Program earned the Safety Award for redefining how work is planned and protected in the rail corridor, ensuring safer conditions for workers, commuters, and communities. The Environment Award recognized our Environmental Management System (EMS) Redevelopment, which introduced 11 Environmental Performance Standards, aligned with ISO 14001, and strengthened auditing practices. Thank you to the RAC and its Evaluation Committee for celebrating these initiatives.
