I’m an avid hiker, and love how when you’re out on the trail you’re truly traveling: being somewhere new, escaping the crowds, and having an experience that’s unique to you in that moment.  That's why I'm so excited that Lonely Planet is partnering with my long-time favorite hiking planning app AllTrails. Together, we're combining Lonely Planet's destination expertise with AllTrails' trusted trail intelligence. It's a partnership built around a simple idea: spend less time researching and more time making memories outdoors. The partnership features a co-branded editorial series on LonelyPlanet.com and custom social content designed to connect travelers with their next great trail.  Each recommended trail pairs AllTrails' member reviews and on-trail details, like trailhead directions, parking recommendations, and timing tips, with Lonely Planet's local knowledge on best places to eat, stay, and things to see. I hope it inspires more people to lace up their boots, venture somewhere new, and experience the joy of exploring on foot. Only a few months after Lonely Planet chose #Sardinia as one our Best in Travel 2026 destinations, Delta Air Lines announced their new seasonal nonstop flight to from New York City JFK to Olbia Costa Smeralda. Now we've partnered with Visit Sardinia to spread the word about this majestic island paradise. Sardinia feels like another world: separate from mainland Italy, with its own distinct identity yet similarly warm, welcoming and beautiful. I love their unique pastas, like su filindeu, their charming locally-owned agriturismi and disappearing into the turquoise blue of the sea.
