Leonardo DRS and Allen Control Systems were proud to team up in support the 187th Fighter Wing, Alabama Air National Guard’s Combat Readiness Inspection. During the event, our MHR / RPS-42 radar successfully detected and tracked multiple low-and-slow Group 1 target representative threats. The team also successfully demonstrated a simulated sensor-to-effector kill chain with Allen Control Systems’ Bullfrog system in support of base defense readiness. Thank You to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Montgomery Police Department (Alabama), and Alabama Emergency Management Agency for coming out and flying drones in support of the event. Their outstanding cooperation and willingness to lean forward played a critical role in helping create an accurate training environment and preparing our warfighters to defend against today’s evolving threats. This collaboration strengthens readiness while bringing together military, law enforcement, emergency management, and industry partners to solve real operational challenges. We are proud to support the 187th and contribute to advancing practical, mission-ready counter-UAS capabilities for the warfighter. #LeonardoDRS #DRSRADA #AllenControlSystems #RedTails #CounterUAS #CUAS #BaseDefense #AirNationalGuard #ReadyWhenCalled

A strong week in Huntsville at the Space & Missile Defense Symposium. From conversations across the defense community to engagement around the technologies shaping the future of the mission, this year’s event reinforced an important point: the pace of the threat environment is accelerating — and so is the need for integrated, mission-ready capability across space, sensing, networked communications and missile defense. Leonardo DRS was proud to be part of that dialogue, connecting with customers, partners and industry peers on the challenges ahead and the innovations helping meet them. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and spent time with our team. We’re leaving Huntsville energized by the conversations, encouraged by the momentum and focused on what comes next. #SpaceAndMissileDefense #SMD2026 #LeonardoDRS #Huntsville #MissileDefense #SpaceDefense #DefenseTechnology #MissionSystems

The maritime operating environment demands flexible, rapidly deployable solutions that can address emerging aerial threats without adding unnecessary platform burden. Leonardo DRS’ Maritime-Mission Equipment Package (M-MEP) meets that requirement with a mission-ready Counter-UAS capability for the maritime domain. Designed for rapid integration on a variety of manned and unmanned platforms, M-MEP is intended to help protect naval vessels, port facilities, littoral assets, and expeditionary forces from unmanned threats. For defense stakeholders focused on readiness, survivability, and layered protection, scalable systems like M-MEP represent an important step in addressing current and future maritime security challenges. As space becomes more contested, the real question for sensing is not just performance, it’s resilience. Can a system still deliver trusted, actionable information when an adversary is trying to jam, deny or deceive it? That is the standard that will matter most. Woody Woodhouse, Vice President, Space, Air and Missile Defense, shares an important perspective on why the future value of space-based sensing will be defined by what it preserves under pressure, not just what it delivers on a good day. Read more: https://lnkd.in/emhwjaUs How should the industry weigh resilience in future sensing requirements? #Space #MissileDefense #MissionResilience https://lnkd.in/esNKv6Ak
Space is getting more contested, and I think we’re still asking the wrong question about sensing. We tend to grade sensing architectures on performance: range, precision, revisit rate. All of that matters. But the harder question is what happens when someone is actively trying to jam, deny, or deceive the system. Can it still deliver information a commander can trust and act on? That’s mission resilience, and it’s about more than survivability. A satellite that survives but can’t get timely, credible data to the fight isn’t doing its job. I wrote about why the value of space-based sensing will be defined less by what it provides on a good day and more by what it preserves on a bad one. Full article here: https://lnkd.in/efqm6HTM Curious whether the requirements community is weighting resilience the way operators would. #Space #MissileDefense #MissionResilience
