Hosted by Lara Spencer of Good Morning America and actor, writer and comedian Pete Davidson, this incredible evening brought together patients, physicians, researchers, caregivers and supporters united by one mission: bringing hope to those facing brain tumors. With the generosity of our donors and community, these funds will help accelerate promising therapies including a groundbreaking glioblastoma vaccine while supporting the next generation of physician-scientists working to transform discoveries into lifesaving treatments. VR gaming and surgery? The comparison may not be as far fetched as you think. Brett Miles, DDS, MD, Chair of the Head & Neck Surgery Department at Lenox Hill Hospital, explains how surgeons use VR to rehearse complex procedures, create patient specific cutting guides and reconstructive plates, and better prepare before surgery. All with the goal of enhancing precision VR isn't just changing how we play, it's helping transform how surgeons prepare to operate.

Excited to announce that we've earned a Center of Excellence (COE) designation from the Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology (SOAP) for demonstrating high standards of anesthesia care for patients before, during and after childbirth! In order to achieve this, institutions must meet evidence based standards across obstetric anesthesia care. Hospitals are evaluated on different criteria, including staffing, equipment, clinical protocols, obstetric emergency management, cesarean delivery and labor analgesia, as well as quality assurance and ongoing education to support complex and high risk pregnancies. In addition to this designation, Lenox Hill has also been named one of America’s “Best Maternity Hospitals” by Newsweek for four consecutive years! 🔗Full story in the comment section

ICYMI: Together with the Carter Burden Network, we hosted a public symposium focused on helping older adults and their loved ones navigate aging with confidence, dignity and support. As New York City's older adult population continues to grow, conversations like these are more important than ever. Attendees heard from Dr. Tobe Banc, medical director of the Northwell Institute for Healthy Aging, who shared insights on the evolving needs of older adults and how Northwell is expanding care to meet them—including 17 geriatric emergency departments accredited by the American College of Emergency Physicians. Special shoutout to everyone who laced up, took to the courts and supported education, research and innovation that will help advance musculoskeletal care and train the next generation of physicians leading the way in orthopedics.
