Our 2026 U.S. Financial Advisory Summer Associates recently connected with several of Lazard’s senior leaders over two #SummerAtLazard lunches — one with Holcombe Green, Global Head of Private Capital Advisory, and another with Chief Financial Officer Tracy Farr and Global Chief Operating Officer of Financial Advisory Jason Bernhard. The conversations each offered candid perspectives on their careers, the evolution of Lazard’s business, and the experiences and relationships that have shaped their time at the firm. Meanwhile, Lazard Asset Management interns marked their own milestone, presenting capstone projects to colleagues and leadership — a culmination of weeks spent engaging with markets, clients and investment strategies. Thank you to Holcombe, Tracy and Jason for sharing their time and insights, and congratulations to this year's Financial Advisory Summer Associates and Asset Management interns on all they've accomplished this summer.

The secondary market continued its record trajectory in the first half of 2026, generating an estimated $124 billion in volume, up approximately 28% year-over-year. Lazard Private Capital Advisory’s latest report finds that this growth is increasingly structural, with both GP-led and LP-led activity reaching new highs. It also explores the continued rise of single-asset continuation funds, shifting capital beyond technology and how AI is reshaping software underwriting. Today’s energy conversation is just as much about economics as it is about power. How do rising capital costs change investment decisions? How should growing electricity demand influence infrastructure planning? And how do you evaluate the cost of reliability alongside the cost of generation? Those are the questions at the heart of Lazard's 2026 Levelized Cost of Energy+ report. Clare Everts, Vice President on Lazard’s Power, Energy & Infrastructure team offers a review of this year's analysis and shares why understanding the changing economics of the power sector has never been more important. Watch below for her perspective—and explore the full report to dive deeper into the data behind today's most important energy trends: https://lnkd.in/en5jtMZx

Lazard announced today that Brian McCabe re-joined the firm as a Managing Director and Head of North America Energy within the Power, Energy & Infrastructure Group, based in Houston. With more than three decades in the sector, Brian has built an extensive transaction track record in the energy industry — advising corporates and sponsors through mergers, divestitures, spin-offs, and take-privates across the value chain. He joins Lazard from J.P. Morgan, where he led the firm's Midstream and Downstream coverage, following senior roles at Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley. Brian's return adds further depth to Lazard's energy advisory capabilities at a moment of significant transformation across the industry. https://lnkd.in/e7-z6QA7

Lazard CEO and Chairman Peter Orszag appeared on CNBC live from the Aspen Economic Strategy Group to discuss U.S. economic conditions amid the ongoing Middle East conflict. Peter noted that the Middle East conflict is likely to remain muddled in the near term, even if a deal is announced, and that constraints from reduced shipping through the Strait of Hormuz are contributing to persistent inflation — compounding the delayed, uneven impact of tariffs and other disruptions still working through the U.S. economy. To better understand the new supply-side era of economics taking shape, watch a clip from Peter's discussion with Andrew Ross Sorkin below:

The conflict in the Middle East has disrupted one of the world’s most important energy corridors. Rather than rupture energy ties between China and the Gulf, the shock may accelerate their transformation. In a new bylined article for the Middle East Journal, Alice Baudin of Lazard Geopolitical Advisory and political economist Karen Young examine how Gulf-China energy ties are expanding beyond crude oil into petrochemicals, renewable-energy supply chains, batteries, electric vehicles, and digital infrastructure. 🤝 China is now the GCC’s leading goods-trade partner, with bilateral trade reaching nearly $300 billion in 2025—more than three times GCC-US trade. 📈 The Gulf’s economic diversification agenda is creating new markets for Chinese technology and industrial capacity. ⚡And the crisis is exposing a broader debate over energy security: whether resilience comes primarily from domestic production or from diversified supply and integration across the energy value chain. The cost of generating electricity is fundamental. But as power demand rises, the conversation is expanding: what does it cost to deliver reliable electricity where and when it is needed most in an increasingly complex power system? Lazard’s Levelized Cost of Energy+ report examines one piece of this question through the Cost of Firming Intermittency analysis, which uses regional grid operators’ own planning frameworks to illustrate the additional costs of integrating select intermittent renewable resources while maintaining system reliability. As accelerating electricity demand puts pressure on the system, a more complete view of energy markets is needed—one that considers not only the cost of generation, but also the importance of reliability, the timing of new supply, the scale of investment required and the role a diverse mix of technologies can play.
