A vital victory for our unhoused neighbors! Today, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California (Hon. David O. Carter) temporarily blocked HUD’s suspension of LAHSA and the related action HUD took against the Los Angeles Continuum of Care (LA CoC). The ruling requires HUD to move forward with already-awarded 2025 grants, protects critical systems that connect people to housing and services, and affirms the LA CoC’s authority to establish regional homelessness funding priorities. LAHSA and the LA CoC Board applaud Judge Carter’s decision and its protection of critical homelessness resources for Los Angeles.
