The University of Houston's first mass timber building just won a national AIA award. The RAD Center swaps steel for wood, fills the space with daylight, and keeps its environmental footprint about as light as its structure. A 60-year life cycle assessment backed it up — the numbers came in better than anyone expected. The American Institute of Architects (AIA) just named it a 2026 Education Facility Design Award winner. Longwood Gardens is one of the country’s most celebrated botanical and cultural destinations, and Longwood Reimagined brought the strength of Trinity Consultants’ team together to give it a whole new chapter.   As part of the design team, Jaffe Holden and Jaros, Baum & Bolles (JB&B), A Trinity Consultants Team, contributed complementary disciplines to one shared vision. JB&B led MEP and AV consulting for the new West Conservatory and broader project, while Jaffe Holden led acoustic design across the project and collaborated on AV work to extend the Main Fountain Garden show system.   Different teams. Another InfoComm in the books! This year's theme was convergence, and we had a lot to say about it. AV and IT are no longer separate conversations. AI is already running inside conference rooms and venues — the question everyone was asking last week wasn't whether to deploy it, but how to do it without the wheels coming off. The future Tennessee Performing Arts Center is being designed for exactly that kind of energy, bringing Broadway productions, dance, opera, cabaret, education, and gathering spaces to the city’s East Bank.
