Today’s fan design process isn’t guesswork—it’s precision engineering. J&D is using our dynamometer coupled to a VFD-controlled motor to spin a propeller and measure exact RPM, torque, and power demand. This allows us to understand exactly how much energy is required to achieve a target airflow before the fan ever reaches a prototype stage. That matters because it completely changes how we develop ventilation products. Instead of building multiple prototype fans and swapping out different motors to see what works best, we use real performance data upfront. The dyno tells us exactly what motor specifications are needed to deliver the airflow and efficiency we’re targeting for a specific agricultural application. That means faster development, tighter engineering tolerances, and more optimized fan performance from day one. It also creates a true feedback loop: We test. We generate data. We refine the design. Then we build a better fan. This is how J&D approaches ventilation design—not as trial and error, but as validated engineering based on real performance measurement. The Redetzke family’s roots in agriculture run deep, stretching back to 1911 when Otto and Ottelia Redetzke built the original barn near Stratford, Wisconsin. Today, that legacy lives on at Redetzke No Joke Dairy, a fifth-generation family farm owned by Matt and Brittany Redetzke alongside Matt’s brother, Sam. While the farm itself has evolved over the decades, its foundation has always been built on hard work, ingenuity, and a willingness to adapt. That same spirit helped spark the beginning of J&D Manufacturing. Don Redetzke, son of third-generation farm owners Raymond and Vivian Redetzke, grew up working on the family dairy with a passion for farming. Along with his brother Jerry, Don began bending a roll cage for Jerry’s race car. When their father asked them to bend stalls for the dairy barn, a simple request quickly turned into something bigger. Word spread that the Redetzke brothers could build quality dairy stalls – and before long, demand grew beyond the farmyard. That early craftsmanship became the foundation of J&D Manufacturing, while the farm continued its own journey through changing times. Though each took a different path, both the company and the farm were shaped by the same values passed down through generations. Today, as Redetzke No Joke Dairy looks ahead – hosting Wisconsin Farm Technology Days in 2026 – the connection between the farm and J&D Manufacturing remains rooted in shared history, innovation, and a deep respect for agriculture.
