Across the US, only 51% of public schools provide basic Computer Science education. This number is even lower in rural areas and among underrepresented communities. As the world becomes increasingly digital, preparing students with STEM skills is crucial to accessing job opportunities and growth in the future. Infosys Foundation USA is a non-profit organization focused on bridging the digital divide in America. It aims to give children, young adults, and workers across the United States the skills they need to become creators, and not just consumers, of technology. Infosys Foundation USA supports computer science education and training, particularly for those in underrepresented communities. This includes grants and domain expertise for non-profit organizations engaged in delivering services, research, and advocacy. Infosys Foundation USA builds on the 20-year community-focused heritage of the Infosys Foundation.

We got to play with MicroChat for #microbit from Forward Education this summer through Infosys Foundation USA Pathfinders Summer Institute! It is exactly the right tool to teach AI Literacy for a classroom of students well versed in micro:bit. If your class knows everything there is to know about our favorite classroom tool, then this would be a great next step for them. I think you'll be amazed a the questions they will ask, the conversations they'll engage in, and the new ideas they'll come up with.
Today Forward Education launched MicroChat, a school-safe AI coding assistant built for the #microbit. Students describe what they want their micro:bit to do. MicroChat generates the block code or JavaScript. Then an AI guide walks them through the Computer Science behind it. It is not just about writing code. When a student builds with AI and sees it run on a physical device, they understand AI as something constructed, not something that hands down answers. That identity shift matters. Students ask better questions, notice when outputs are wrong, and understand that debugging is part of the process. For teachers: you do not need to know how to code. The AI guide handles it. 🌟 Inspiring the Next Generation at Infosys Richardson! 🌟 On July 21, we had the privilege of hosting students from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas at the Infosys Richardson campus for a day filled with learning, innovation, and career exploration. As an Infosys Foundation USA CSR Champion and a participant in the Career Panel, it was truly inspiring to interact with these talented students, share career journeys, answer their thoughtful questions, and encourage them to explore the exciting opportunities that technology offers. one of the highlight of this summer was helping bring Kode Kode With Klossy to the Infosys Bellevue Hub as part of our CSR initiatives. Kode With Klossy continues to do incredible work empowering young scholars to explore technology, build confidence, and discover future opportunities in tech. What made the experience truly special was the energy the scholars brought into our workplace. From thoughtful ideas like creating a personalized message space to encourage one another, to spontaneous dance-offs during breaks, they filled the campus with creativity, enthusiasm, and positivity! A heartfelt thank you to our Infosys mentors who generously shared their knowledge, career experiences, and personal journeys. The scholars asked thoughtful questions that sparked engaging conversations on career growth, navigating challenges, and the growing impact of AI on their future aspirations. I'm also grateful to my fellow CSR champion Arnita Chakravorty and all volunteers who worked behind the scenes to make every interaction meaningful and ensure the program ran smoothly. Special thanks to our Facilities and Admin teams(FNU Bhumika) for keeping everything running seamlessly.
