Despite growing awareness and changing conversations around addiction, opioid-related deaths in Monroe County remain alarmingly high. From January to September last year, 787 Hoosiers lost their lives to opioids. In Monroe County alone, nearly 60% of all drug-related deaths in 2025 were opioid-related, and one of the biggest barriers to getting help remains stigma.
