IGEN receives $2,000,000 annually from the Illinois EPA to provide resources for renewable energy and energy efficient technology through the Illinois community college system. Rend Lake College exemplifies the importance of this funding, having improved energy efficiency in their renovations on campus through IGEN funds. The Rend Lake College project replaced an existing 2,490 square foot window installation in their Student Center with a high efficiency window curtain wall. “IGEN has been an invaluable partner to Rend Lake College by providing not only funding opportunities, but also technical guidance and resources that help colleges complete meaningful projects like this one.” - Lynne French, RLC’s Assistant Director of Facilities Management and Campus Operations.

📸 Field Photo Friday Every stream has a story. One of the ways we read it is by measuring discharge. Discharge is the volume of water flowing past a specific point each second. Our biologists use this measurement to help assess aquatic life health, measure sediment loads, calculate pollution limits, and evaluate the overall health of Illinois watersheds.
