🌧️ Monsoon Challenges Every Farmer Should Know – #1: Wet & Spoiled Feed The monsoon season brings much-needed rain, but it also creates challenges for livestock farmers. One of the most common is wet and spoiled feed. When feed absorbs moisture, it becomes an ideal environment for mold growth and the production of mycotoxins, which can negatively impact animal health and farm productivity. ⚠️ Risks of feeding spoiled feed: Digestive disorders Reduced immunity Lower feed intake and productivity Increased health issues in livestock ✅ Best practices: Store feed in a dry, well-ventilated area. Keep feed off the ground using pallets. Cover feed properly to protect it from rain. Always inspect feed before feeding—if it feels damp or has a musty smell, don't use it. Healthy feed leads to healthy animals. A few simple preventive measures can make a significant difference during the rainy season.
