Few things rattle a parent like watching their child sit up in bed screaming, eyes open, unreachable — and remember none of it the next morning. It's a night terror, and it's one of the most common and most misunderstood childhood sleep experiences. Last week, our Chief Medical Officer, Nikhil Nadkarni, MD, was featured in Moms Who Think, breaking down what parents should actually know: how night terrors differ from nightmares, what's happening in a child's developing brain during an episode, why waking them can do more harm than good, and — most importantly — the reassurance that night terrors are not a sign of a psychiatric or mental health condition. That last point matters. A lot of what Brightline does is helping families tell the difference between what's alarming and what's developmentally normal. Parents deserve clear, honest guidance in those moments. Read Dr. Nadkarni's full guidance in Moms Who Think: https://lnkd.in/eGU87RTu #PediatricMentalHealth

We're honored to be named to Becker's Healthcare — Hospital Review's list of 272 telehealth companies to know in 2026. Recognition like this matters because the problem it points to is still very real. Families are waiting too long to get their kids the mental health support they need. Too many dead ends. Too much confusion about where to start. Brightline exists to change that. In-person care at our clinics, online therapy and psychiatric services, and psychological testing for kids and teens up to age 18. And through BrightLife Kids, our free, state-funded program for California families with children ages 0 to 12, which grew 165% this past year. The path to care for kids shouldn't be this complicated. We're working to make it simpler. Grateful to Becker's, to our partners, and most of all to the families who trust us with their kids. Millions of teens are turning to AI chatbots for mental health support. The reason is simple: with a nationwide shortage of child psychiatrists, a chatbot is available at 2 a.m. and a clinician isn't. But what happens when the "therapist" is engineered to agree with you? Nikhil Nadkarni, MD, Brightline's Chief Medical Officer, argues these tools are optimized for user approval — not clinical truth. Join Dr. Nadkarni at the Behavioral Health Business Executive Forum for an honest look at the clinical realities, systemic dangers, and ethical boundaries of AI in behavioral health — plus a live discussion where you can push back and add your own view. 🗓️ July 23, 2026 · 2:00 PM ET Register: https://lnkd.in/eHhhaZfU #AIinHealthcare

Grateful to Governor Gavin Newsom, First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom, California Department of Health Care Services, and the CYBHI team for the historic investment in youth behavioral health. BrightLife Kids — program by Brightline — is one of the behavioral health platforms California trusts to reach families where they are. Alongside Soluna, we've supported more than 500,000 children, youth, and families across all 58 California counties — and the majority are receiving professional mental health services 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞. For years, families didn't know where to go. Or couldn't afford it. Or waited months for a first appointment. Or didn't see themselves reflected in the providers available to them. We're proud to be part of a state-led effort that's rewriting what access to quality behavioral health looks like — free, no insurance, no referrals, available in 19 languages, for every California kid ages 0–12. Culturally-responsive care gets treated as a checkbox. It isn't one. July is BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month, established through the advocacy of Bebe Moore Campbell, who fought for access too many families still can't find. The gap she named is measurable: children in minority communities wait longer for care, are misdiagnosed more often, and are more likely to receive treatment that doesn't fit their needs (Hoffmann et al., Pediatrics, 2022). Closing that gap takes more than a line in a mission statement. In practice, it looks like: ✔️ Clinicians who reflect the families they treat. ✔️ Evaluations that ask about a family's history with healthcare, faith, and language — not just a child's symptoms. ✔️ Recognizing that "parent involvement" looks different in every household, and building care around the family a child actually has. When we ask families what "getting better" means to them — instead of assuming — the answer reshapes the plan. That's the difference between care that's offered and care that's used. This is the standard we hold ourselves to, and the one every family deserves. Learn how we approach care: brightline.com #BIPOCMentalHealthMonth

"The patient is never just the patient. In pediatrics, the family is the unit of care." That's our CEO Kari O'Rourke — and it's the belief that drives everything we build at Brightline. 7wire Ventures sat down with Kari O'Rourke for their Top of the Ladder series to talk about her path from NICU nurse to CEO, what it means to lead a company through a pivotal moment, and why pediatric mental health deserves the same urgency we give physical health. It's a rare conversation — part career story, part vision for what accessible, family-centered care can actually look like. June 19th, 1865 marks the day that all enslaved people in this country were freed at long last. Today, we celebrate Black culture and freedom, honor the resilience of Black Americans, and reflect on the work that still lies ahead in the pursuit of true equality. Visit our Learning Hub at brightline.com and explore our blog by topic — search “BIPOC” to find articles and resources about self-love, allyship, and advocacy for your family. #HappyJuneteenth

I'm hiring a VP/GM, New York Market — one of the most important leaders on my team. Brightline is redefining pediatric behavioral health care for families. This leader will own our New York market end to end: P&L, clinical outcomes, operations, and culture across four clinics today (with a path to six+). It's a full-stack operator role — in the clinics, with the teams, and building the foundation for how we scale nationally with our national ops and clinical teams. The right person has deep experience working with clinicians, sitting at the intersection of clinical operations, patient experience, and strategic growth. Based in NY and reports to me. Comment or DM me. Referrals mean the world. https://lnkd.in/gpd2st7d

The questions parents search at 2am. Ask their pediatrician during a 15-minute wellness visit. Finally type into an intake form after weeks of weighing whether to reach out. These are the questions we hear most often — from "how do I know if my child needs therapy?" to "what happens at the first appointment?" to "will I be involved in my child's care?" Our answers are the same whether they come up on an intake call, in our DMs, or in a referring clinician's office. Clarity is part of the care. If you refer families to Brightline, this is the experience we're committed to delivering on the other end of that handoff.
