Meet Angie Grau, administrative project coordinator in Phoenix, Arizona. As a classically trained mezzo-soprano, Angie has performed in some incredible places. But one of her most memorable performances took place at HDR, where she rewrote the lyrics to an opera aria and performed it for colleagues at the Pathfinders celebration. For Angie, music is about creating connections and community. She brings that same perspective to her work, where she started as the Phoenix receptionist before recently moving into her new role as an administrative project coordinator. After completing Career Connect, Angie expanded her network across HDR and explored different career paths. Encouraged by colleagues to pursue a project coordinator role, she found an opportunity to build on her strengths. “From my first day, I could just tell that this was a great place with great people reaching toward a shared goal. Other places where I’ve worked, it was easy just to clock in and clock out, but here, I feel like there’s a level of investment from everyone and that’s inspiring,” Angie said. We delivered the full design fit-out for the 181-bedroom, five-star 1 Hotel Mayfair, the internationally renowned eco-conscious brand's first U.K. location. This development was part of a larger refurbishment of a mixed-use scheme originally built in the 1970s in London's world-famous Mayfair district, home to nearly 700 listed properties. One of the project's most complex challenges was creating an industry-leading, five-star guest experience while retaining the 50–year-old existing structure. As population growth in Austin, Texas, creates record demand at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), two new taxiway bridges will support the airport's ongoing expansion. The new 48-foot-span, 229-foot-wide bridges will carry aircraft over active roadways while maintaining access to essential airfield facilities including the air traffic control tower and aircraft rescue and firefighting services. Once complete, they will be the first taxiway bridges in service in Austin. Learn more: https://bit.ly/4fHQCyb

One Leadenhall is a recently constructed 35-story skyscraper, adjacent to a historic Grade II listed covered market that served as part of the marathon course for the 2012 Olympic Games. Brookfield Properties engaged HDR’s building engineering services as part of the project, which adds a distinctive new tower to the City of London's iconic skyline. The tower features a glass façade and offers views across the U.K.’s capital. One Leadenhall is fully let, with global law firm Latham & Watkins occupying most of the available office space as anchor tenant. The firm signed a long-term tenancy at the site in the heart of the Square Mile.
