Archer Aviation has signed definitive agreements to acquire three Boeing subsidiaries: Wisk Aero, SkyGrid, and Insitu Inc. Let that land for a moment. ✈️ Wisk - 16 years of autonomous flight development, six generations of eVTOL aircraft, 1,700+ test flights, autonomy capability built for both civil and defence certification. ✈️ Insitu - a pioneer in UAS intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, with 3,500+ systems fielded across the armed forces of 35 nations and operations in every hemisphere. ✈️ SkyGrid - the air traffic management platform building the digital infrastructure for automated airspace. Combined with Archer's ZEE physical AI foundation model and its Midnight eVTOL programme, this creates something that didn't exist yesterday: an end-to-end physical AI platform spanning commercial air taxi, defence UAS, airspace management, and AI-driven autonomy. A profitable defence business generating over $200 million in annual revenue, operating across 35 countries, now sits inside a company that was pure eVTOL 24 hours ago. Boeing takes a stake and becomes a strategic partner. It retains access to the core autonomous flight technology for its own commercial and defence programmes. Both sides win. This is a watershed moment for advanced air mobility and for the engineering talent market around it. Two organisations with deep autonomy, certification, and manufacturing experience are combining. Some news we've been watching closely just went live. 🚁 Huge congratulations to the team at DoorDash on the launch of DoorDash Air. DoorDash Labs has just earned FAA Part 135 air carrier certification (making DoorDash one of only eight drone operators in the US to hold this certificate!!) and launched its in-house drone delivery programme, designed and built entirely by its own robotics and autonomy team. This isn't a partnership or a white-label solution. DoorDash built the aircraft, the ground infrastructure, the real-time inventory reconciliation, the handoff systems, and the full operational layer from scratch. Proudly American-designed and built, with the majority of components made right here at home. We've had the privilege of working closely with this team and watching this project come together - the talent, the ambition, the sheer technical complexity of what they've pulled off - has been one of the highlights of our year!! 🤯 This is exactly the kind of programme we exist to support: a credible team of exceptional engineers solving genuinely hard problems. 🙌 Big shout out to Jason Calaiaro, Adam Chase, Harrison Shih, Teodor Tomic and everyone at DoorDash Air.
