  • Engine No. 1’s Founder and CEO Chris James (CJ) spoke at this year’s ADIPEC Exhibition and Conference on the panel "Capital catalysts: financing the future energy economy." CJ discussed the current gap between demand for AI and the supply of power, emphasizing that the immense scale and unique energy requirements of AI infrastructure demand a rapid shift from traditional models.   "These loads are entirely different than the distributed loads that we've had before. These are highly concentrated, highly variable, and we probably shouldn't try to solve them using the old infrastructure. We probably should have a bespoke, integrated infrastructure that doesn't have all the inefficiencies that we have in the current model."

  • Engine No. 1’s Managing Director and Head of Business Development Lyndsey Merrill Feinberg recently spoke at this year’s New York Energy Capital Assembly, hosted by The Energy Council at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).   Lyndsey had the opportunity to join a panel on how today's regulatory environment is shaping the future of energy investment. She highlighted Engine No. 1's role in convening industry leaders to accelerate solutions for the surging AI-driven power demand in the United States. Lyndsey underscored the need for a balanced, dual-track approach - maximizing today's energy resources to meet today's demand while strategically investing in long-term solutions with an "all the above" approach to the power stack that will provide resilient energy optionality for customers in the future.    This was a great event convening distinguished investors, policymakers, and thought leaders from across the industry. Thank you to The Energy Council for inviting us and providing a forum to discuss these critical issues.

  • On the latest episode of PetroNoia with host Daniel Romito, Engine No. 1 Managing Director and Head of Business Development Lyndsey Merrill Feinberg discusses the necessary steps the U.S. must undertake to maintain the leading edge in the global race for AI, starting with fostering a bipartisan policy environment that enables critical, multi-year energy infrastructure projects to be completed, regardless of election cycles.   “I really think if we’re talking about building these large-scale power projects and these large-scale data centers and the infrastructure to support both of them, that’s tens of billions of dollars. These timelines to build out these projects are five to six to seven years, and that’s longer than a presidential term. So, if you want the private sector and industry to be building out what we need in order to make sure we meet the energy demand in a timely fashion, we have to have the regulation and the structure in place no matter who is in the White House.” https://lnkd.in/e7tPeTRb
