Should you join the search committee? It's an opportunity to influence one of the most important decisions an institution will make. It's also a significant responsibility. Strong search committees define the leadership capabilities the institution needs for its next chapter. That requires time, thoughtful discussion, an open mind, and a commitment to confidentiality. A recent webinar we hosted, 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗨𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿, reinforced an important theme: successful CEO transitions are intentional, strategic, and deeply relationship-driven.
