Friday afternoon and #NRFNexus has just wrapped up here at the Broadmoor in Colorado. Yes #AI was the theme AND what I taking away as a major theme of our conversations was very much about us as humans. Some highlights: Successful implementation is not about the tech it's about the "monsters" (aka fears) we must slay. Roles and responsibilities are in flux. #CTO is no longer Chief technology officer but Chief Transformation Officer. #CIO is Chief Impact Officer not Information Officer. No one has the answers (well maybe Walmart) but successful organizations are investing in their people, data and culture as the infrastructure for success with AI. Retail remains a very human business powered by tech but about creating experiences that drive emotional attachments that create loyalty, vitality, to your brand. Yes agentic commerce is real, but providing exceptional service in your stores is even more important.
