The more important question is: What role will independent pharmacy play when that future arrives? Join Kate Helf (Wirthlin), VP of Pharmacy Innovation at IPC, and Tom Foley, COO of Doctronic, for a conversation about telehealth, patient access, digital health, and where independent pharmacy fits into the next chapter of healthcare. • Healthcare only works when people can actually access it. That means being able to ask simple health questions, find care when you need it, and afford it. When any one of those pieces is missing, it becomes easier to put care off. That is the problem Doctronic is working to solve. Medical AI is free and available 24/7, giving anyone a place to start. If the next step is a physician, licensed video visits are available nationwide for $39 cash or an insurance copay. More people should be able to get answers and move toward the right care. That is what access means to us. 1. 92% of American adults have delayed or skipped medical care because of cost. 2. The average doctor's visit without insurance costs $171. 3. One in five say their health got worse because they waited. Americans hold $220 billion in medical debt and the industry thinks the answer is to finance the cost with payment plans, medical credit cards, or debt. Why not just fix the system? A Doctronic medical AI visit is free, and our video visits with licensed doctors are $39 cash, 24/7, in all 50 states. https://lnkd.in/gmVXrkXK

The FDA has recalled two lots of chlorthalidone 25 mg after routine quality testing found they did not meet dissolution specifications. This is a Class II recall, meaning serious health consequences are considered unlikely. If you take chlorthalidone, swipe through for: → what the recall means → which lots are affected → what “dissolution” actually means → how to check your prescription One important detail: the bottle you receive from your pharmacy may not show the manufacturer’s original lot number. Your pharmacist can confirm whether your supply is affected. Check with your pharmacist if you’re unsure. Every message a patient sends Doctronic is checked for emergencies: heart attack, stroke, difficulty breathing, almost 50 distinct scenarios. The AIs that do these checks we call Guardians. They're independent, they run outside other AI models, they are not guardrails baked into it. This independence means that the system watching for danger is not the system doing the talking. When we first implemented these, every check meant a call to many large AI models, which works, but was slow and expensive. So we taught small, fast models to do the first screen. They learned from millions of our own data points, with the large models as the teacher. Many cases now clear in under a millisecond. They are also roughly 750x cheaper and we've saved over a second per message. We plan to share these models in order to make clinical AI safer for everyone.

  • There's been a lot of coverage this summer about a nationwide Cyclosporiasis outbreak. Here's a calm, useful take on the situation. Cyclosporiasis is an intestinal illness caused by a microscopic parasite, Cyclospora cayetanensis, usually picked up from contaminated produce or water. It doesn't spread person to person. As of the CDC's most recent Health Alert Network update, 1,645 confirmed domestic cases have been reported since May 1, across 34 states, with 141 hospitalizations and no deaths. What makes this different from a typical stomach bug is timing and duration. Symptoms usually start about a week after exposure, sometimes up to 2 weeks, which makes it hard to trace it to something you ate. Without treatment, symptoms can ease up and then return over several weeks. Common symptoms: watery diarrhea (sometimes frequent), stomach cramps, bloating, nausea, fatigue, and loss of appetite. When to seek prompt care: severe dehydration, bloody stool, high fever, or if you're pregnant, immunocompromised, very young, or elderly. One practical note: if this has you skipping salads altogether, you don't have to give up vegetables to stay cautious. Most Americans already fall short on fiber and produce intake, so swapping in a lettuce-free option, like a dense bean salad, is an easy way to keep your fiber and nutrients up while you wait out the recall. If you've had ongoing or returning GI symptoms this summer, our Medical AI can help you figure out whether it's worth getting tested for cyclospora specifically, since standard stool panels don't always catch it. • New parents don't only have questions between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. Breastfeeding questions often surface overnight, long after the clinic has closed, when a straightforward answer can be hard to find. We want to give new parents somewhere to bring those 2:00 am questions, anonymously and without judgment, so reassurance doesn't have to wait for the next appointment: www.doctronic.ai #WorldBreastfeedingWeek #NewParents #MaternalHealth #Doctronic #AIHealthcare

With great power comes great responsibility. Spiderman actor Tom Holland has spoken openly about giving up alcohol entirely. It turns out he's part of a much bigger shift. A record 46% of Americans now say they don't drink at all, the lowest number Gallup has recorded since 1939. Adults under 35 are leading the change, with two-thirds saying even moderate drinking is bad for their health. People who cut back often notice steadier sleep and mood within weeks. If you're curious what that could look like for you, Doctronic offers a free, private space to talk it through, no appointment needed: www.doctronic.ai Source: https://lnkd.in/ezpZzYJp #BrandNewDay #SoberCurious #HealthTrends #MedicalAI #DigitalHealth #Spiderman

  • Every August, the same 5 things land on parents' to-do lists at once: a sleep schedule reset, physicals, vision and hearing checks, dental visits, and immunization records. It's also the busiest stretch of the year for back-to-school appointments. Slots book out fast. Uncorrected vision problems don't just affect grades. The CDC notes they can hurt class participation and confidence too. Catching it before the first bell matters more than catching it after report cards. We built Doctronic so families don't have to choose. Get it all done without the weeks-long wait. #BackToSchool #ParentingTips #Doctronic #DigitalHealth

  • Most sun safety advice gets reduced to one sentence: "Wear sunscreen." That's a good start, but it's only part of the story. Clouds let through more UV than most people realize. Sitting next to a sunny window doesn't completely protect your skin. And while higher SPF numbers do offer more protection, the increase becomes much smaller as SPF rises. Some of the biggest myths aren't about sunscreen at all. People with darker skin can still develop skin cancer, and when they do, it's often diagnosed at a later stage - making awareness and early detection especially important. The goal isn't to scare anyone away from the outdoors. It's to understand what actually protects your skin so you can enjoy the sun more safely. If you notice a mole or spot that's new, changing, bleeding, or not healing, don't ignore it. Getting it checked early can make a real difference. That's why we built Doctronic. Chat with our AI doctor for free. If you need a licensed physician, you can start a telehealth consultation for just $39. #MythBusThurs #UVSafetyMonth #SunSafety #SkinCancerAwareness #Dermatology #PreventiveHealth #Doctronic
