I sometimes joke that customers have gone through the five stages of grief when it comes to quantum safety. Denial: Quantum computers are still years away. Anger: Why do we need to replace cryptography that works today? Bargaining: Can we wait until the technology and standards mature? Depression: This migration is going to touch everything. Acceptance: We need to get moving. We are now firmly in the acceptance and action phase. Across my conversations with customers globally, most organizations I speak with are no longer debating whether they need to prepare for Post-Quantum Cryptography. They are moving aggressively from planning to execution: discovering cryptographic assets, assessing risk, building crypto-agility, testing PQC, and developing migration plans. Last year, more than 3,000 people registered for DigiCert’s 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗺 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆. On September 17, we are bringing the industry together again for the third annual gathering. This year’s theme is 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱.
