Updates

  • Computershare was again pleased to sponsor the Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute’s 27th Annual Corporate and Regulatory Update (ACRU), held in Hong Kong on 12 June. Bringing together governance professionals, directors and senior management, ACRU continues to serve as a key forum for understanding how the regulatory landscape is evolving. This year’s program focused on the issues shaping the regulatory environment, with direct updates from government authorities and regulators including HKEX, the Securities and Futures Commission and the Companies Registry. Sessions covered areas such as post‑listing compliance, enforcement priorities, USM and evolving governance requirements, offering practical insights into the expectations issuers are facing. Michelle Ho, Managing Director of Entity Solutions Asia, represented Computershare at the event, engaging with governance professionals on the challenges shaping governance today. Please contact Michelle and her team at hkcgspursuit@computershare.com.hk if you would like to know more about our Entity Solutions offering.

  • Congratulations to the following companies on their successful listings on the Main Board of the HKEX today: • HJ Science Co., Ltd. (Stock code: 6067) We are happy to have supported them in reaching this momentous landmark, and we want to wish the management team and all stakeholders every success as a listed company To learn more about how we support companies from pre-launch to post-IPO, contact our IPO team via business@computershare.com.hk.

  • Equity incentives are rapidly becoming a core consideration in Hong Kong IPO preparation. At the HKCGI IPO Practical Training in Shenzhen, our speaker Ms Elise Xu shared how companies are adopting share plans more widely, planning earlier (before IPO), and moving toward more balanced incentive structures. One clear takeaway: employee share plans are no longer optional. Perspectives from legal, accounting, and tax speakers all pointed to the same conclusion that this is a topic companies cannot ignore. This was echoed by the strong engagement from participants, with many actively interacting during and after the session to explore practical implementation and market best practices in greater depth. Please connect with Elise X. on LinkedIn or reach out directly at Elise.Xu@computershare.com.hk to learn more or continue the conversation.

  • Computershare was pleased to contribute to the Hong Kong IPO Practical Training (Shenzhen), organised by the The Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute (HKCGI), engaging with market practitioners on the evolving dynamics shaping today’s IPO landscape. Representing Computershare, Ms Sandy Fung, Head of IPO Management, Computershare Asia, and Ms Elise Xu, Vice President, Business Development, Computershare Plan Managers, shared perspectives spanning both USM readiness and the evolving role of equity incentive frameworks in IPO preparation. A key theme emerging from the discussion was the increasing convergence of market infrastructure transformation and issuer strategy. As Hong Kong moves toward a fully uncertificated, paperless securities environment, companies are rethinking not only operational readiness, but also how governance, investor engagement, and ownership structures will evolve post-listing. In parallel, equity incentive plans are being considered earlier in the IPO journey, influencing how companies approach talent, alignment, and long-term value creation from the outset. These shifts point to a broader change in mindset: IPO readiness today is no longer just about meeting listing requirements, but about building a framework that is operationally resilient, digitally aligned, and strategically integrated from day one. Thank you to the organisers and all participants for a highly engaging exchange of perspectives. #USM #IPO #HongKongIPO #EquityIncentives #Computershare

  • The secret to long-term commitment? Engineered retention. Vesting schedules are more than just timelines. Now they are the bridge between today’s effort and tomorrow’s value. While the average employee journey to full vesting is 3.1 years, it’s common for directors to vest between 1.3 and 1.6 years. Whether the vesting schedule is a marathon or a sprint, aligning the highest levels of responsibility with immediate skin in the game creates greater retention. Explore how equity can drive sustained retention outcomes. http://spr.ly/6049B89CFZ

  • Computershare was pleased to host 2 recent webinars attended by over 1000 attendees on preparing for Hong Kong’s Uncertificated Securities Market (USM) implementation, bringing together distinguished speakers whose expertise continues to shape this important market transition. We were honoured to hear from Mr Richard Houng (CEO, Issuer Services, Computershare Asia), Ms Jennifer Zhang (Director, Head of Client Management China, Issuer Services, Computershare Asia), alongside esteemed regulatory leaders Ms Thrity Mukadam (Senior Director, SFC), Ms Yan Leung (Associate Director, SFC), Mr Paul Malam (Senior Vice President, HKEX) and Ms Christine Lau (Vice President, HKEX). Their perspectives—combining deep market insight with regulatory authority—highlighted the strong collaboration driving USM forward toward its 16 November 2026 target implementation date. The session offered an update on progress of USM and key considerations for issuers and lawyers.
