  • One compromised account can quickly become a much bigger problem.   Modern phishing attacks aren't just about stealing passwords. Attackers are increasingly targeting MFA codes and authentication sessions to gain access, establish persistence, and move throughout an organization.   Chris Bentkowski, Senior Service Engineer, breaks down how these attacks unfold, how MFA can be bypassed, and the steps organizations can take to stop a phishing attempt from becoming a widespread security incident.   Read the full blog: https://lnkd.in/gi-nDXuc

  • Preparing for a CMMC Level 2 assessment is about much more than implementing security tools. Success often comes down to demonstrating consistent, repeatable processes and providing the evidence assessors need to validate your cybersecurity program.     In our latest blog, the CloudFit team shares five key lessons learned from supporting organizations through CMMC Level 2 assessments. From evidence maturity and shared responsibility to incident response, identity management, and governance, these insights highlight the practices that help organizations build a stronger security and compliance posture.     Whether you're planning for your first assessment or looking to strengthen your existing CMMC program, these lessons provide practical guidance on what assessors are looking for and how to better prepare.     Read the full blog here: https://lnkd.in/gMM5Y_Cx

  • Following the recent CMMC Phase II pause, now is a good time to step back and understand what your contracts actually require.  Your cybersecurity obligations don't start with the latest headlines. They start with the requirements written into the agreements you're performing today.  Whether you're a prime contractor or subcontractor, understanding how your organization receives, stores, processes, and transmits CUI is the foundation for making informed decisions about your environment.  In this article, we break down where to start, what to look for in your contracts, and why properly scoping your environment matters more than assumptions.  Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/e_6VS7ZY #CMMC

Last week, the Lynchburg Economic Development Authority was proud to partner with CloudFit Software to host the JobFit Talent Summit alongside local employers, colleges and universities, and 31 incredibly talented interns.   One of the biggest takeaways from the morning was this: there is more talent than one company can capture.   CloudFit is attracting more qualified applicants than it can place within its own organization. That creates an incredible opportunity for other Lynchburg employers to get involved by sponsoring interns, providing meaningful work experiences, and ultimately hiring great talent right here in our community.   That's exactly why the EDA has supported JobFit from the very beginning. The program was created by the private sector to address workforce needs identified by the private sector, and it's helping build the talent pipeline our community needs for the future.   The interns inspired all of us. Now it's our turn.   If you'd like to learn how your organization can become part of JobFit, we encourage you to connect with CloudFit and learn more at https://jobfit.online/.   #OpportunityLynchburg #JobFit #WorkforceDevelopment #TalentPipeline #LynchburgVA

  • Like many across the Defense Industrial Base, we've been closely following the recent announcement regarding the CMMC Phase II pause.  While the implementation timeline may be changing, one thing remains true: The responsibility to protect CUI and strengthen cybersecurity across the DIB has not changed.  We believe this moment presents an opportunity to shift the conversation beyond compliance deadlines and certification milestones. The real challenge has always been making meaningful cybersecurity practical, scalable, and affordable for every organization supporting our warfighters.  Protecting the DIB cannot depend on lengthy deployments, excessive consulting costs, or solutions that are out of reach for much of the DIB.  The challenge this news is surfacing is exactly why we built easyCMMC. It was never intended to be just a faster path to an assessment. It was designed to deliver secure, managed cybersecurity outcomes in your own environment while reducing the cost and operational burden of achieving compliance. Regardless of how CMMC evolves, we remain confident that this approach addresses the underlying challenge the industry is trying to solve.  Our full perspective is now available on our website.  🔗 https://lnkd.in/gZ9yyRjh The mission has always been bigger than CMMC.  The mission is securing the DIB.

  • A new class of Linux kernel vulnerabilities, known as "Dirty Frag," is drawing attention across the cybersecurity community. For organizations running Linux servers or Kubernetes clusters, understanding these vulnerabilities and their potential impact is an important part of protecting critical infrastructure.     In our latest blog, CloudFit team member Chris Bentkowski explains what Dirty Frag is, why it matters for Kubernetes environments, which Linux kernel versions are affected, and the steps organizations can take to reduce their risk while planning for permanent remediation.     If your organization relies on Linux, Kubernetes, or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), this article provides a practical overview of what you should know.     Read the full blog here: https://lnkd.in/g87V3wAN

  • One of the things that makes the CloudFit Internship Program unique is our commitment to serving others.   In this video, Laurel Melton reflects on her experience starting as a CloudFit intern, the impact community service has on our program, and why giving back remains such an important part of our culture. She also shares some advice for our 2026 interns as they begin their summer with us.   We're excited to see this year's interns grow, learn, and make a difference both inside and outside the workplace.

  • Phishing attacks are no longer obvious spam emails filled with typos. Today’s campaigns are sophisticated, scalable, and designed to bypass traditional defenses by targeting people instead of systems.   Following the FBI’s disruption of the W3LL phishing operation, our latest blog explores what organizations should take away from this major cybercrime case and how building a strong security culture can help reduce risk.   Read the full breakdown from Charlie Gebetsberger, Service Engineer at CloudFit: https://lnkd.in/gmfCiBmM
