CITY OF CHICO’S FAIR STREET REHABILITATION PROJECT CHICO, CA –– Starting June 29, 2026, the City of Chico will begin work on the Fair Street Rehabilitation Project. Knife River Construction will lead construction efforts that include the Full-Depth Reclamation (FDR) of Fair Street from East Park Avenue to East 20th Street. In addition, the project includes the installation of Class II bike lanes, new sidewalks, landscape parkway zones where feasible, and upgrades to ADA facilities throughout the corridor. Notre Dame Blvd Bridge Ribbon Cutting, June 18th @ 10:30 AM "Please join the City of Chico in celebrating the completion of the Notre Dame Bridge over Little Chico Creek with a ribbon cutting ceremony to be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The ceremony will be located on the northern end of the new Notre Dame Boulevard bridge deck and will include remarks by keynote speakers. Light refreshments will be provided. Limited vehicle parking will be available at the Emerson Park lot (see attached map). If you ride your bicycle to the event, please be safe. The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning impacting our region beginning Wednesday, June 10 at 11am and continuing through Thursday, June 11 at 5pm. A Red Flag Warning is issued when a combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures create critical fire weather conditions. 🚧 As a safety precaution, the City of Chico will close the gate at Horseshoe Lake to Upper Bidwell Park June 10 and June 11. Residents are encouraged to take the following precautions: 🔴 Refrain from using BBQs in Lower Park 🔴 Avoid any outdoor activities that could generate sparks 🔴 Discard cigarettes or matches appropriately and NEVER on the ground. 🔴 Do not park vehicles on dry grass or vegetation 🔴 Ensure trailer safety chains are secured and not dragging on roadways 🔴 Postpone welding, grinding, mowing dry grass, or using equipment that may create sparks #RedFlagWarning #CityofChico #ChicoFire #NationalWeatherServiceSacramento
