This week, Gedeon Richter announced the acquisition of Celmatix Therapeutics’s women’s health discovery portfolio — a powerful signal that investment in this area is not only overdue, but imminent. Women’s health has always faced critical gaps in research and therapeutic development. Celmatix, an ARPA-H performer in our Sprint for Women’s Health initiative, is working to close those gaps by advancing a first-of-its-kind therapeutic program targeting anti-Müllerian hormone to extend and improve ovarian function. This is the future we’re building: partnering with winning teams to advance bold science, real investment, and transformative solutions. We are proud to share that Gedeon Richter has acquired Celmatix Therapeutics’ women’s health discovery portfolio, including our programs spanning infertility, endometriosis, and ovarian aging. The portfolio includes a first-in-class oral FSH receptor agonist, a novel JNK inhibitor for endometriosis, and early-stage AMH-targeting antibodies designed to expand control over ovarian folliculogenesis. Since our founding in 2009, Celmatix has been driven by a deep conviction that female biology is distinct and deserves to be studied, understood, and treated with the same scientific rigor applied to every other area of medicine. Over the years, that conviction has shaped a pipeline built around some of the most urgent unmet needs in women’s health: from more patient-friendly fertility care, to disease-modifying approaches for endometriosis, to new therapeutic strategies for extending ovarian function across the lifespan. We have long believed that women need all of their organs, including their ovaries, to function well throughout life, that conditions like endometriosis deserve early, first-line disease-modifying treatments, and that women seeking not only to survive but to thrive into later life deserve more advanced fertility care. Those principles have been foundational to our work, and we are deeply grateful to see them carried forward by an organization with Richter’s long-standing legacy in women’s health and global commitment to innovation. Under the agreement, the acquired programs will be advanced within Richter’s women’s health R&D hub in Belgium, where they will have the scientific infrastructure and global platform needed to continue progressing toward the clinic. Celmatix will receive an upfront payment and will also be eligible for development milestone payments as the pipeline advances. This is a proud moment for our team and an exciting next chapter for the science. We’re honored to see our work at Celmatix Therapeutics included in TIME ’s Longevity issue, where ovarian health is recognized not as a niche topic, but as a core pillar of female vitality and aging. At Celmatix, we’ve spent years advancing the idea that the ovary is far more than a reproductive organ. It is a central regulator of metabolic, immune, and hormonal health, and an organ that needs to function well across the lifespan. Seeing this systems-level view reflected in a publication like TIME is validating not just for our team, but for the broader women’s health research community that has been pushing this perspective forward. As highlighted in the article, Celmatix is advancing research into anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) and its role in regulating ovarian aging. AMH plays a central role in controlling follicle activation, and preclinical studies have shown its potential to protect ovarian function under conditions of accelerated aging, including chemotherapy exposure. Celmatix is developing a therapeutic approach that closely mimics AMH to optimize and extend ovarian function throughout the lifespan. This week, our Founder and CEO Dr. Piraye Beim joined the Endometriosis Foundation of America at the The White House for meetings with senior U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) officials to advocate for the millions impacted by endometriosis. With 1 in 10 women affected, endometriosis represents both a profound unmet medical need and a multi-billion-dollar opportunity for innovation. Yet women’s health research and endometriosis in particular have been chronically underfunded, leaving patients with few effective options. At Celmatix Therapeutics, we are proud to be pioneering a novel JNK 1,3 inhibitor program, the first non-hormonal, non-opioid therapeutic in development for endometriosis. By targeting the dual drivers of pain and inflammation, we aim to deliver a treatment option that does not compromise fertility or long-term health — a transformational advance for patients and the field.
