Talking responsible digital governance and digital inclusion at the Mauritius Internet Governance Forum, alongside @ChainforGood 🌍 #Bybit #NewFinancialPlatform
Last week, we joined forces with Bybit at the Mauritius Internet Governance Forum (IGF). We were honoured to support the Mauritius IGF, hosted by the Halley Movement, a Forum dedicated to shaping an open, safe, and inclusive digital future for Mauritius and the wider small island developing states (SIDS) community. Global Head of Policy at Bybit, Mykolas Majauskas, joined our Director of Global Affairs, J. Glenn Tan, to share perspectives on how #blockchain and emerging technologies can serve the public good, from digital identity and financial inclusion to the trust and governance frameworks that small island states need as they build their digital economies. It was a genuine privilege to meet His Excellency Jean Robert Yvan Hungley, Vice President of the Republic of Mauritius; the Hon. Dr Avinash Ramtohul, Minister of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation; and the Hon. Lutchmanah Raj Pentiah, Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reforms, to exchange views on Mauritius' digital ambitions, the role emerging technology can play in advancing the nation, and how Bybit and BGA can collaborate with the Mauritian government. Mauritius has long positioned itself as a bridge between continents and a leader in the region's digital transformation. For small island states, the questions at the heart of the Internet Governance Forum — digital inclusion, data governance, cybersecurity, and public trust — are not abstract. They are foundational to sustainable development. We look forward to deepening our engagement with Mauritius and the SIDS community, and to collaborating in advancing the digital future of #Africa.
