Our team participated in a Confined Space Rescue Drill last week down in our Intracoastal City Yard, alongside the local 7th Ward Volunteer Fire Department! This yearly training helps keep BBI teams prepared, strengthen emergency response coordination, and keep safety at the front of everything we do. Drills like these allow everyone involved to practice rescue procedures, sharpen communication, and work together in real-time scenarios. Congratulations to Joshua Joseph and Cody Lege for being selected for May’s best Take 5 Observations at Broussard Brothers! While loading pilons onto a deck barge, Joshua noticed a crewman standing beneath the load and immediately called an all stop, preventing a potentially serious incident before it could happen. Cody also identified a major risk involving a pad-eye on top of a hydraulic power unit that was not designed to lift the full weight of the unit, helping prevent possible injury and property damage by speaking up before the wrong equipment was used. These are the kinds of observations that make a difference and the kinds of people who help keep safety woven into every part of the job.
