Understanding breast cancer research isn't just interesting — it's practical. Patients and caregivers who know what's happening in the field are better equipped to ask the right questions and advocate for themselves in the doctor's office. This edition of our newsletter covers 5 findings worth knowing from the 2026 ASCO Annual Meeting: - A GLP-1 connection to cancer progression that researchers are calling "provocative" - Trial results suggesting some high-risk patients may safely skip chemo - Yoga's measurable impact on survivor side effects - Lifestyle changes linked to a 76% lower recurrence risk - A new oral drug outperforming standard hormonal therapy ⬇️ Click to read our latest edition of Impact in Action. Thank you, Kristen Elliott, for joining us again at WIMM this year. We're honored that Breastcancer.org could be a small part of your village, and we're so grateful for your support of our mission to ensure that no one has to face breast cancer alone. We appreciate your openness and advocacy to help others see that they, too, can do anything. 💗
"You can do almost anything." Hearing those words from five-time Olympic medalist Elana Meyers Taylor recently was a powerful reminder of what it means to lead with grit. She spoke beautifully about resilience and the "village" it takes to face life's biggest challenges. Her message hit home for me in a deeply personal way. Since my diagnosis in September 2023, navigating my breast cancer journey while continuing to push forward professionally has taught me the true definition of grit. It also reinforced that nobody wins a gold medal—or navigates a diagnosis—alone. That is why sitting in the room for the Annual Women in Media & Marketing Awards Luncheon felt entirely different this year. The event raised vital support for Breastcancer.org, an organization that is incredibly close to my heart. When you are dealing with the realities of a diagnosis, having a lifeline of reliable information, trusted resources, and a supportive community is everything. That is the vital work they do every single day. Being surrounded by so many brilliant colleagues from across the media, advertising, and marketing sectors was a profound reminder of the power of our industry. When we align our minds, hearts, and resources, we don't just move business metrics—we change lives. Deeply grateful to my own "village," to this powerhouse community, and to Breastcancer.org for ensuring that no one has to walk this path alone. 🤍 Breastcancer.org

Hundreds of leaders from media, marketing, advertising, and health care came together this past May for our fourth annual Women in Media & Marketing Awards Luncheon in support of a shared goal: ensuring that no one faces breast cancer alone. That belief has guided Breastcancer.org’s mission for more than two decades. It’s a mission rooted in the understanding that when someone receives a breast cancer diagnosis, they need more than medical care. They need trusted information, community, connection, and hope. This year, we were especially honored to announce and welcome Olympic gold medalist Elana Meyers Taylor as our newest ambassador. Together, we’re working to be the ultimate teammate—helping people better understand their risk, prioritize their breast health, and access trusted information when they need it most. Thank you again to our honorees, supporters, sponsors, and donors for helping make this event so meaningful and for advancing our mission. Because of you, we can continue to be by the sides of millions of people, providing free access to medically reviewed information and compassionate support through Breastcancer.org. 💜 📖 Download our free Breast Health Booklet here: https://lnkd.in/egvrSmjG #Marketing #Advertising #SPAM #Philanthropy #Nonprofit #BreastCancer

New findings from the lidERA study presented at ASCO 2026 show that giredestrant reduced the risk of recurrence more than standard endocrine therapy in both premenopausal and postmenopausal women with early-stage HR-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer. Researchers reported a 42% lower risk of metastatic recurrence in premenopausal women and a 24% lower risk in postmenopausal women. Giredestrant is not yet approved by the FDA. Thank you, Judy, for your years of incredible support of our mission and for helping bring yesterday’s event to life. Your leadership, personal connection, and dedication have helped make the Women in Media and Marketing Awards Luncheon such a meaningful and special tradition year after year. It has been an honor for us to have you be a part of this event. 💕 Our hearts are filled with so much gratitude for everyone who joined us yesterday afternoon, shared their stories, and helped make this year’s Women in Media and Marketing Awards Luncheon so special. #leadership #philanthropy
More Than a Luncheon❤️ On Thursday, May 21st, 350 of us gathered for an unforgettable afternoon filled with stories of courage, hope, resilience, and community. Many of us attend countless lunches and galas throughout our careers, but the annual Women in Media and Marketing Awards Luncheon benefiting Breastcancer.org feels different. It stays with you. For the past four years, I’ve had the honor of serving on the committee and emceeing this meaningful event. I do so in memory of my sister, Dr. Irene Aponte, who lost her battle with breast cancer more than 30 years ago. She was young, brilliant, determined, funny, and deeply loved — especially by her daughter, Christina. As emcee, I asked everyone in the room to think of someone they love and reach out to them today. Don’t wait for the perfect moment. Make today that moment. And if that someone is no longer with us, find a way to honor them. This luncheon has now raised more than $1 million for Breastcancer.org, with every dollar supporting research, education, and community support. Each year, I return because if this event helps even one person — someone newly diagnosed, someone frightened, or someone grieving — then Irene’s legacy continues to live on. Thank you to Carl Fremont, Katie Kulik, Lauren Hughes, Dr. Marisa Weiss, and everyone who showed up, shared their stories, and supported BreastCancer.org. 💙
