Born in Ireland and ordained in Omaha, Father Edward J. Flanagan arrived in America with a simple but radical belief: every child deserves to be valued, protected, and given a chance. While others looked away, he spoke out against the reformatories and juvenile facilities where children were mistreated and held like prisoners. He didn't just talk. He acted.
About us
Boys Town has been a national leader in the care and treatment of children since its founding more than 100 years ago by Father Edward Flanagan. As one of the largest nonprofit, nonsectarian child and family care organizations in the country, Boys Town provides compassionate, research-proven treatment for behavioral, emotional and physical problems. Boys Town’s outreach is national in scope, with treatment and care programs at more than a dozen sites across the country. We believe that every child, regardless of circumstance, deserves the opportunity to succeed. We also recognize that every child is an individual with unique needs. That’s why, over many decades, we have developed a distinctive, research-based approach to achieving our vision that has proven successful for tens of thousands of children and families.

Our experts encourage families to maintain simple routines throughout the summer to help children feel rested, regulated and emotionally supported. A summer schedule does not need to be as structured as the school year, but predictable habits can help support positive behavior and make the transition back to school easier. https://lnkd.in/gzcQ3BDq

One box of pizza can help save a life. Pretty amazing! Thank you Godfather's Pizza for being an incredible partner. Call 800-448-3000 or text VOICE to 20121.
A pizza box helped save a child's life. Twenty years ago, I helped launch a company strategy to focus our nonprofit giving on one partner: Father Flanagan's Boys Home (Boys Town). Rather than spreading our support thin across many causes, we decided to put our energy fully behind one organization we believed in. One of the simplest ideas came from an unlikely place: pizza boxes. Kids love pizza, and at least 80% of ours went out the door in a box. So we added the Boys Town National Hotline number right on the packaging. It worked. At least one child reached out for help because of that number on a pizza box, and got saved. You won't find that kind of impact on a P&L.

When children in crisis reach out for help, we respond quickly. AI helps our Boys Town National Hotline counselors move faster behind the scenes, so they can slow down where it matters most: listening and supporting with compassion. 📞 800-448-3000 or text VOICE to 20121. Thank you Oscar Gonzalez for speaking on this at the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Summit!

Camp Okoboji is a Boys Town tradition. It's an opportunity to bond with each other outside of the Family Home, grow their relationship-building skills with their Family-Teachers and peers, and simply enjoy time together in a fun environment. Check out this episode of our Follow a Family series to get a glimpse into what Camp Okoboji is like.
