A bit late in sharing but our team was recently recognized with one of Air Force Global Strike Command’s three Public Affairs Communication Excellence team awards. We received the Brigadier General Harry J. Dalton Jr. Award, which recognizes the PA team that best advances Air Force priorities and mission objectives through intentional research, planning, execution, and evaluation of communication efforts. Awards are easy to frame around outputs and outcomes but what this one represents for me is the work that does not always show up on paper. The conversations about how we work together. The decisions to pause when we can, be more intentional, and hold ourselves to a higher standard. The trust this team has built and the way they show up for each other every day. Public Affairs has always been a craft I care deeply about, and being recognized within our own career field makes this award especially meaningful to me. It has been a professional goal since early in my Air Force career. I was also honored to receive the AFGSC Public Affairs Company Grade Officer of the Year Award. That recognition belongs to this team just as much as it does to me. They challenge me, support me on hard days, keep me accountable, and bring a lot of joy into the work. Beyond grateful for this team and proud of what we have built together.

History shows that shutdowns have ripple effects across the U.S. economy: affecting all citizens if for no other reason than it causes a loss in economic output that never gets made up, even across time. We asked our member businesses: How is thee shutdown affecting your business in our weekly enewsletters.
