Blue Forest's financing touches only part of the total acreage being restored across this landscape. There's a lot of work still ahead, and we're grateful to be part of a group committed to seeing it through, with each of us filling our own niche: South Yuba River Citizens League, Yuba Water Agency, Tahoe National Forest, Sierra County, Camptonville Community Partnership, National Forest Foundation, The Nature Conservancy in California, HUṠWEJ (formerly California Heritage: Indigenous Research Project), and the Nevada City Rancheria Nisenan Tribe.
Big news! The North Yuba Forest Partnership has renewed a memorandum of understanding, reaffirming its commitment to continue improving forest health and reducing the risk of high-intensity wildfire across 275,000 acres of the North Yuba River watershed. To date, the partnership has secured $150 million in funding and successfully implemented work across more than 30,700 acres using treatments like fuels reduction, forest density thinning and prescribed fire. Another 42,597 acres have been prepped and are ready for treatment in the future.
