At Clubs across the Valley, BGCAZ provides award-winning programs designed to change the lives of young people. For more than 75 years, BGCAZ has been creating equity and opportunity for youth through academic, social, and workforce opportunities. We help young people make healthy decisions and focus on social and emotional development to build resilient young adults. Our teens took their voices all the way to Capitol Hill! Four teen leaders from our Sands Branch proudly represented Arizona at the 2026 Summit for America's Youth. They built leadership skills, connected with Club teens from across the country, and met with Arizona's congressional delegation to advocate for opportunities that help young people thrive. By sharing their personal stories, they showed lawmakers the life-changing impact Boys & Girls Clubs have on youth, families, and communities. When young people are given a seat at the table, they become powerful advocates for their future. Earlier this week, I had the privilege of recognizing Laney Law and Natalya Hernandez Gutierrez for the exceptional work they accomplished this summer as our Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley - BGCArizona AZ Youthforce interns. Both had the opportunity to present to Boys & GIrls Club leadership and share insights from their experience at Swire Coca-Cola, USA Throughout the summer, Laney and Natalya made a meaningful impact by building connections across multiple areas of the business, creating valuable marketing materials, and contributing to several of my key initiatives. Their professionalism, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn were evident in everything they did. I am incredibly grateful for the talented young professionals I have had the opportunity to mentor through the AZ Youthforce program over the past three years. Investing in the next generation of leaders has always been important to me, and I am proud to be part of a partnership that creates opportunities for growth, learning, and career development. A big shout out to the amazing team at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley - BGCArizona AZ Youthforce for preparing these young leaders to step into internship positions and make an immediate impact.
