At the Great American State Fair, we took our mission directly to the people. We asked them to reconnect with the founding ideals that made this country exceptional. From reading the Declaration of Independence to recommitting to the core values of liberty, civic duty, and limited government, hundreds of thousands are joining this movement. Every generation faces a choice: do we preserve the principles that guarantee our freedom, or do we let them slip away? The next 250 years of America will be defined by the choices we make today.

The last shutdown ran 43 days. Congress's brinksmanship turned what used to be routine appropriations into an unproductive hostage crisis. The Prevent Government Shutdown Act takes this short-sighted "strategy" off the table. It's time to make it a reality.
