For Mr. Healy, joy is a freshly cut lawn! After sharing his wish to mow the grass with his zero-turn mower one more time this year, our hospice care team listened, made a plan and helped him safely get back in the driver's seat. What a special reminder that meaningful care starts with understanding what matters most to each patient! (FYI for those wondering, the mower was turned off for the photo. The only thing in motion was a great big smile 😄)

Caregiving is our Calling
About us
At Amedisys whether we’re caring for patients directly or supporting those who do, each of us is a caregiver at heart. From home health to hospice to personal care, every team member contributes to our mission of providing exceptional, clinically distinct care in the home to more than 415,000 patients every year. We know that every life tells an incredible story, and we celebrate that each day by honoring our patients with genuine, personal attention. Everything we do, from the boardroom to our nationwide network of care centers, is centered on the best care possible for those who have entrusted us with their well-being and comfort. We work closely with doctors and other healthcare providers to coordinate services, and every patient has an individual plan of care that meets their specific needs. Amedisys recognizes that nothing we do is possible without our incredible team. For all employees, whether they’re on the front lines delivering direct care or supporting our clinical team, this isn’t just a job – it’s a higher calling. We’re committed to finding passionate, qualified caregivers for our team and investing in them with the best resources, training and professional development opportunities to nurture their talents in order to empower them to make a real difference. At Amedisys, we know that the unique skills and experiences all service members and military spouses have lead to outstanding, dedicated caregivers, and that is why we are proud to partner with organizations such as Hiring our Heroes, TAOnline.com, and Military Spouses Employment Partnership to recruit and employ veterans and military spouses across our company. The hospice care journey can be emotionally draining for patients and their families. Our hospice timeline is a practical resource healthcare providers can use to guide discussions, set expectations and help patients and caregivers better understand the hospice experience. This resource helps simplify the journey from referral and admission through continuing care, final days and bereavement support, highlighting that grief support from Amedisys remains available for families for up to 13 months after their loved one’s passing. Download and share the hospice timeline with your patients and caregivers: https://hubs.li/Q04rHrFl0

We're excited to welcome Kenna and her handler, Jeff, to our pet therapy volunteer team in Marietta, OH! Talented, hardworking and always ready to make a new friend, 2½ year old Kenna brings energy, enthusiasm and affection to every visit. Outside of her therapy work with Amedisys hospice patients, she is also a member of the Dunham Fire Department and currently training for her Search and Rescue certification. Thank you, Jeff, for sharing Kenna's incredible gifts with our patients and community. We're grateful to have this remarkable duo in our volunteer family!

At Amedisys, we developed Code Green to ensure no patient transitions alone in their final days. This protocol activates an increased rotation of visits from our hospice team of nurses, aides, social workers and chaplains to address all the needs of the patient as they near end of life.
