Every August, the AI Village at DEF CON is a proving ground for offensive AI research. And for AHEAD's Red Team, it's a preview of the techniques we'll be running against client AI systems for the next twelve months. One of the biggest emerging threats (and what’s keeping our own architects up at night) is indirect prompt injection, when an attacker plants instructions in content the model will later read on someone else’s behalf, whether that’s a support ticket, a PDF in a RAG store, or even a calendar invite. We’re proud to recognize AHEAD’s Q2 Overall IMPACT Award winner, Michael Nelson, Senior Technical Consultant! Michael created an AI-powered solution to analyze RVTools exports against the latest design documentation, best practices, and hardware compatibility lists, cutting a 20–40 hour manual consulting workflow down to minutes while delivering both detailed technical assessments and executive-ready summaries that accelerate client time-to-value and uphold AHEAD’s standard of professional, high-quality deliverables. A special shout-out to all of our Q2 quarterly IMPACT Award winners around the globe. Thank you for going above and beyond for AHEAD, our partners, and most importantly, our clients. #AlwaysAHEAD

Week one of AHEAD Engineering University (AEU) is only halfway through and it's absolutely been rewarding to see the enthusiasm surrounding the young careers of this first cohort. We kicked off the week with conversations about the day in the life of a Client Solutions Engineer (CSE) and Specialist Solutions Engineer (SSE) along with what it really looks like to grow into a Solutions Engineer role. From there, the week moved through career development discussions, hands-on skills workshops, a session on building your personal brand, time with leaders across the business, a look at technical learning paths, and even a hands-on workshop with new AI tools. We practiced the craft of presenting and storytelling, worked through a real discovery-to-proposal exercise as a team, and wrapped with a conversation on mentoring and community. And then there was the fun: a team dinner, an architecture boat tour on the Chicago River, and a lot of laughs along the way. A huge thank-you to every presenter who showed up this week and shared their personal insights and perspective. The impact you're having on these careers truly can't be measured. Although traditional app security and cloud security disciplines remain relevant, they are no longer sufficient on their own in AI systems that are probabilistic, data-dependent, and increasingly autonomous in how they invoke tools and act on context. The real-world implication is straightforward: AI application security should be treated as the next maturity layer after #CNAPP, not as a separate side project. Just got back from Reading, UK where we cut the ribbon on our new AHEAD Foundry & Executive Briefing Center, our first production facility in Europe. This expansion in EMEA comes at the right time as clients and partners continue to navigate complexity in the market.   Same standards, same speed, same accountability that we've built our name on here in the US, now running in the UK. AHEAD has always supported our global clients with white glove service but now we extend into our next chapter with a ubiquitous experience for integration and supply chain management.    Thank you to the team, Stephen Ayoub Paul Allen Chris Tucker Dan Flood Keith Odom, who turned this vision into a working facility, and to every client and partner who joined us in the UK to celebrate. Cheers to our next chapter!   #AlwaysAHEAD

🇬🇧 𝗪𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗨𝗞 — 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗲'𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱. AHEAD has opened its new AHEAD Foundry™ facility in Reading, marking the operational cornerstone of our UK presence — fully functional from day one. This isn't just a new address on the map. It's the result of a coordinated UK and European strategy: the Prolimax acquisition, Paul Allen joining as EVP of Sales, EMEA, and now a fully industrialised production centre right here in the UK for AI, HPC, and edge infrastructure. As Paul Allen, EVP Sales EMEA, put it: UK organisations scaling enterprise AI no longer have to choose between local execution and global consistency — we're delivering both, from right here in Reading. Too often, AI strategy, architecture, integration, logistics, and operations are treated as separate motions owned by separate teams. That's workable for conventional refresh cycles. It gets expensive and slow once GPU density, liquid cooling, and cross-border deployment enter the picture. At AHEAD, we've built a different model. We bring those motions together so clients move faster and get into production with more confidence. The new UK #AHEADFoundry facility extends that model. Multinational clients get regional execution that still feels like one company. #Hatch keeps the operational data connected to the hardware, so IT teams get a shared view across regions instead of guesswork. Together, they shorten the gap between infrastructure investment and dependable production use. Read Chris Tucker's perspective here: https://bit.ly/4hjkVN0

Excited to see this InformationWeek perspective on the conversations shaping Black Hat 2026. The security community is moving past the AI hype and into the harder, more important questions: How do we secure agents, identities, permissions, and the infrastructure that supports them? How do we build the visibility, governance, and resilience needed to move forward with confidence? AI is becoming part of the broader security operating model, not a separate experiment. The organizations that get ahead will be the ones that pair innovation with strong fundamentals and measurable outcomes. While I couldn't personally attend Black Hat this week, I was able to speak to several attendees about the event and the broader cybersecurity conversation taking place right now It seems clear that while AI continues to seep into every discussion, the focus has shifted from potential to pragmatism. Security professionals are looking past hype and possibility to identify what can actually do meaningful work in the enterprise today. Thank you to Julie Talbot-Hubbard, Diana Kelley, Dr. Chase Cunningham, and Louis-David Mangin for sharing your experiences with me and InformationWeek! Most enterprise security teams aren’t suffering from too little information. In fact, quite the opposite. They're currently drowning in it. With so much competing for our attention, it’s a struggle to decide which signals actually change the understanding of risk. The most valuable thing to bring back from any conference, be it Black Hat or #DEFCON, is a clearer understanding of how offensive tradecraft is evolving in practice. That happens through the off-the-record discussions that refine perspective and add new texture to lessons from past engagements. It’s where the industry’s blind spots get exposed by the people most capable of finding them.
