'Marco's Avonturen' - 'Met de Reuzen' (1948).
Frans van Lamsweerde worked at the Toonder and Geesink Studios in the 1940s. Among his work for Toonder was 'Pinneke Proost', an advertising comic for Kabouter-Jenever in cooperation with Hans G. Kresse, Cees van de Weert and Henk Kabos. The booklet was printed in 1943, but wasn't distributed. It was published in a limited edition in 1995. During World War II, he used the signature Faun. From 1945 until his emigration to the USA, he was mainly active as an illustrator. He illustrated greeting cards and illustrations for 7-Up and Sunkist advertisements, and is best-known in The Netherlands for his Voor Het Kind greeting cards.

Van Lamsweerde drew the adventures of 'Pekky' in magazine De Prins in 1944, and made the illustrations for the book 'De Toverpijl en andere verhalen' by M. van Loggem. In 1947 and 1948, he made the newspaper strip 'Marco's Avonturen in de Jungle van Jena' and 'Marco's Avonturen met de Reuzen' for De Gelderlander.

Van Lamsweerde emigrated to the USA in 1950. There, he worked for the Walt Disney Studios as a background artist and a merchandise illustrator for four years. He then became a freelance artist and made various illustrations for the Golden Book series of Western Printing, mostly starring Hanna-Barbera characters. He illustrated several children's books (a.o. 'Ziggy and his Music'), folders, calendars and Christmas cards. Van Lamsweerde also drew comics in the USA, that appeared in some Los Angeles newspapers.
