The idea for the challenge came after Alexander returned to his home in Alton following four years in Hong Kong, where he worked as an English tutor.
Alexander said: "I saw first-hand the struggles that some children go through and realised I wanted to do more to help.
"Once I got back, I decided walking the Pilgrims Way would be a great way to do raise money and make a difference.
"The Children’s Society really stuck out to me.
"The work they do with vulnerable children is really amazing and I just wanted to pitch in however I could, so here I am."
During his journey, he carried a donation box and relied on the hospitality of Anglican communities along the route, which he described as extremely welcoming.

He said: "There have been some amazing people along the way who have been incredibly generous with their time and support.
"Everyone I met was really encouraging, and I am so grateful to have had that kind of community around me."
Mark Russell, chief executive of The Children’s Society, praised Alexander's dedication.
Mark said: "Alex’s challenge is an extraordinary test of determination and commitment.
"Every penny he raised will go toward vulnerable children and young people through one of our many services.
"Our children are experiencing real difficulties; the United Kingdom’s young people are now consistently among the unhappiest in Europe.
"People like Alexander make a real difference to the lives of children and I hope his achievements inspire others."
The Pilgrims’ Way is a medieval route dating back to the 12th century, traditionally followed by pilgrims travelling from Winchester to Canterbury.
It passes through a number of towns and villages including Alresford, Alton, Farnham, Guildford, Box Hill, Merstham, Oxted, Otford, Wrotham, Halling, Aylesford, Harrietsham, Boughton Lees and Chilham.
The Children’s Society supports young people facing serious hardship, including exploitation, abuse and poor mental health.
Alexander's fundraising efforts will help the charity continue its work across the UK.
