Haul route for dump trucks on Bay 61, Eastbourne, East Sussex
The view in the photo looks along the haul route that passes through Bay 61 in the vicinity of the William Allchorn. The haul route was created for the use of dump trucks that transport shingle from beaches to the east-northeast to the stockpile on Bay 54. The tracks of the 30-tonne dump trucks are heavily imprinted into the beach in the vicinity of where the William Allchorn lies beached and awaiting restoration. In order to maintain a level haul route and facilitate the transport of shingle by dump trucks, the head of Groyne 62 has been completely covered by a bank of shingle.
