Bole of Giant Redwood
Bole of Giant Redwood
The Giant Redwood (Sequioadendron giganteum) is amongst the tallest tree species in the country. It cannot reproduce naturally in conditions in Britain, but many were planted here in late Victorian times as the ultimate botanical status symbol. This specimen appears to be one of a series of several such trees lining the old driveway to Dukeswood House.
