Pride of the market place is this dynamic statue of local hero Duncan Edwards (1936 - 1958), who died alongside 22 others in the Munich air crash, when Manchester United were on the way home from a European Cup victory over Red Star Belgrade.

The statue was unveiled by Sir Bobby Charlton and Sarah-Anne Edwards, Duncan's mother (who was 90 years old by then) in 1999.
