Though based on a real pub in Wolverhampton, the Elephant and Castle is not a precise replica, as are many of the buildings in the Black Country Living Museum. It was thus rather easier to build. A man working there told me that the pub has its own regulars who like to come in of an afternoon, and think of it as their 'local', despite it being in the middle of a museum!
